It came to my attention today that somebody apparently posed as a breeder in Buffalo NY and told buyers they scheduled transport with us for puppies that don't exist, I've been contacted by several victims wondering what was going on.
If there is anyone else out there that became a victim of this scammer, sadly, I have to confirm that we never had any pickups scheduled in NY today, and it seems as though this scammer used our company's credibility to trick several puppy buyers into sending money, as if we have been transporting puppies for them. 🙁
I have seen a few puppy scams before, but never one that directly used our name in their tricks.
Scammers are developing new tricks all the time, and unfortunately, it is not super uncommon.
Please, if any breeder that you don't know and don't fully trust says they scheduled transport with us, don't hesitate to reach out and confirm. I don't mind answering legitimacy questions.
A couple of tips I have to keep you and your pockets safe:
Do your research before purchasing a pet from strangers. Do they have a website? Do they have references? Is their phone number real? Any reviews? Maybe registered with a kennel club?
Choose your payment methods wisely if you aren't 1000% sure (paypal and card payments and even venmo with purchase protection, if available, are typically safest, as you can dispute easily if you get scammed and get your money back, though there may be extra fees to you or the seller when using these methods)
And most credible breeders won't mind scheduling a video call or taking videos for you so you can see their pups in action!
Be cautious, and don't be afraid to ask me for my opinion even - I'd be happy to scan for any red flags FOR you!.. If I can be of help in any way, I will.
