We have taken down the traps and cameras we had set up for the doodle that had been seen in the area of Wilson’s and the Scrap Yard here in Rochester. The dog hasn’t been seen on either of our cameras since Saturday morning. If any of you live in that area, please comment or message us if you see the dog, as we will gladly try again! Sometimes dogs will wander off, then circle back around, which was what we had been hoping would happen, since we had consistently been putting out food and water. A huge thank you to ACO Sam, who not only helped us keep food and water out for the dog, but also walked the perimeter of the area today, just in case the dog may have been overcome by the heat. We also are very grateful to Jeff at Wilson’s for allowing us to set everything up on their property. We were there numerous times during the day/evening to refresh the food and water as well. We couldn’t do what we do without permission from property owners. We are always so disappointed/discouraged when we are unable to get a dog to safety. The heat and humidity has been a concern to us, as well as fireworks. If the dog shows back up, we will sure try again! - Greta

The poodle (or doodle 🤔) is still in the area of Wilson’s/scrapyard. This picture is from this morning. We sure would love to get it trapped before the extreme heat moves in. Please keep your fingers crossed and think good thoughts! - Greta

I was contacted on Wednesday this week about the poodle mix. Animal Control asked me to set trap in Rochester. This little pooch his been circling it many times because she’s terrified to go in but yet she is hungry. On Thursday morning I went early to put fresh food out when I noticed a 2nd little dog. This little guy by afternoon was in the trap and now safe at Fulton County Animal Center, Indiana

We are doing our best to trap our poodle friend.

On April 29th I got a call to help Butterscotch and his owner. Butterscotch was rescued and got away from new owner. We tried unsuccessfully since to trap him. He is so very smart. He got out of the trap twice. We kept trying. Finally a neighbor on Tuesday of this week was able to tranq him and now he’s living on neighbors farm with a lot of acreage to roam and be outside where he likes it with shelter when he wants it. We thank the owner for calling upon us. And the cash that he gave us which we will use for gas. Greta Landis Jeralyn Burkett Hines.

UPDATE 5/13/26

Bonnie and Clyde are officially up for adoption at Fulton County Animal Center Indiana Rochester In,

Very very friendly pups. Approximately 9mo. Male and female both unaltered. I found them at Prairie’s Edge in Rochester. Both have been wandering all afternoon. I called our animal control officer and she told me to take to Fulton County Animal Center, Indiana. It’s always a pleasure to work with AC and FCAC. 4 day hold, so hopefully they have owners. Thank You to Libby A. Hake and husband for being so concerned. They are safe for now.

Look at these handsome boys! They are the dogs we trapped last month in the Walkerton area. They have been named Thaddeus and Storm, and are at Marshall County Humane Society, Indiana waiting on their forever homes.
