๐Ÿš—๐Ÿพ WNC Spay/Neuter Alliance may not be in the transport businessโ€ฆ but when thereโ€™s a need, we do what has to be done to make it happen! ๐Ÿ’ชโค๏ธ

It truly takes an army of caring people to pull off a lifesaving transport like this, and we want to give a HUGE thank-you to Shelter Dog Transport Alliance for helping us coordinate and for sharing their amazing volunteers and drivers. ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘

First up, a big thank-you to Pat, who got the wheels rolling and helped relay these precious pups from our area to Asheville! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿš™๐Ÿ’จ A huge shoutout as well to SDTAโ€™s Brienna, who drove from Asheville to Durham, where Virginia Beach SPCA volunteer drivers met her and continued the journey. Talk about teamwork! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

Because of everyone working together, all 12 pups made it safely to VBSPCA! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ• We are so incredibly grateful for every single person who helped make this lifesaving transport possible.
12 pups. One big team. Endless gratitude. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™โœจ

๐ŸŽ‰ BIG DAY TODAY FOR WNC SPAY/NEUTER ALLIANCE! ๐ŸŽ‰
Today, we were able to serve Graham and Cherokee Counties in so many meaningful ways. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™

Our valued partners, the Snippet Bus in Franklin, spayed 8 dogs and 6 cats for us today. We are so grateful for this partnership and the difference it makes for animals and families in our communities!

Every spay/neuter means fewer unwanted litters, healthier pets, and stronger communities. We couldn't do this important work without the support of our amazing donors, volunteers, rescue partners, and community members.

Wait, I did say big day, right?
Appalachian Animal Rescue Center helped by accepting 4 Chihuahuas who needed a soft place to land. Dawn took in 8 puppies and the Momma dog, who had all been living under a house. Also, one of our long-distance rescue partners, Virginia Beach SPCA, agreed to take 12 puppies!
In the rescue world this is what makes a big day! Lives saved and unwanted litters prevented.

Please join us in our rescue and spay/neuter efforts by making a donation. No donation is too small. The QR code is in the photos below.

Thank you for standing with us and helping to make a real difference for animals in WNC! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑโœจ
Stay tuned โ€” big things are happening! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

This sweet boy is Ozzie. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™
He was scheduled to be neutered this Tuesday, but today his owners contacted us to let us know he had been injured. Cindy went to check on him and quickly realized that his injury needed immediate veterinary care.
Ozzie has now been taken to an emergency veterinarian in Blue Ridge, GA, where he is receiving the treatment he needs. This was a completely unexpected expense, and we are asking for your help, ๐Ÿ™ because this is a real burden for his family.

If you are able to make a donation in any amount, it would mean so much and would help provide Ozzie with the care he deserves. Every dollar truly makes a difference. ๐Ÿ’›

If youโ€™re unable to donate, please consider sharing this post to help us reach more people. ๐Ÿถโœจ
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for keeping Ozzie in your thoughts. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

We are seeing a large number of individuals who are having difficulty providing for their pets. We also are helping feed a momma dog with 13 pups! (Parents will be sterilized ASAP)
If you are able to make a dog/cat food donation, please send it to

Nina Fette at 283 Mayapple Drive, Robbinsville, NC 28771.

Any of the brands below are great or Lovins in town has 50-pound bags of dog food available for $26, and we can arrange for pickup if you prefer to purchase from there.
We would like to express our appreciation to our regular contributors for their continued support.
We could not do this without your help!

One of the most difficult conversations in the TNR community is the topic of pregnant cats and spay-abort procedures. It is a subject that can weigh heavily on the hearts of rescuers, veterinarians, and caretakers alike. Before judging someone for the decision they make, it's important to remember that most people involved in rescue aren't choosing between "good" and "bad." They're choosing between two incredibly difficult options.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Some rescues or individuals choose to ๐™–๐™ก๐™ก๐™ค๐™ฌ ๐™– ๐™ฅ๐™ง๐™š๐™œ๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™ฉ ๐™˜๐™ค๐™ข๐™ข๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ ๐™˜๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™œ๐™ž๐™ซ๐™š ๐™—๐™ž๐™ง๐™ฉ๐™ if they already have committed foster homes, the financial resources, and the time to safely raise the kittens and ensure every one of them is spayed or neutered before adulthood. They may feel they can give those kittens a chance at a loving indoor life while preventing future litters.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Others choose to ๐™ฅ๐™ง๐™ค๐™˜๐™š๐™š๐™™ ๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™– ๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™–๐™ฎ-๐™–๐™—๐™ค๐™ง๐™ฉ because they know there are no available fosters, rescues are already overflowing, shelters are at capacity, and they simply cannot guarantee the kittens' safety or future. They may have witnessed firsthand the heartbreaking realities of outdoor life. To them, preventing future suffering is an act of compassion.

The right choice often depends on the unique circumstances surrounding the individual cat and the resources available at that moment. Rescue is rarely black and white. It is full of heartbreaking decisions made by people who care deeply and are trying to reduce suffering in the best way they know how.

Instead of criticizing one another, let's extend grace. Let's support one another! And let's continue working toward the day when every cat is spayed or neutered before an unexpected pregnancy ever becomes part of the conversation. ๐Ÿˆโค
