Help This Little Fighter Heal 🐾
This sweet baby, now named Tough, had a rough start.
Crystal, one of our volunteers with WNC Spay Neuter Alliance, got an urgent call about a kitten with string tied tightly around his neck. She didn’t hesitate — she rushed out, got the kitten to a vet, and is now doing multiple bandage changes every day.
The good news: Mom was also safely caught and is being fostered with her baby so they can recover together. No other kittens were found.❤️

WNCSNA financially assisted, because of our generous donors, 25 spay/neuters this past weekend at the Christian Veterinary Mission clinic. It’s always a great weekend with Dr. Wages and her crew. Thank you to everyone who makes this possible!

From a chain to a couch—Mellow needs a hero! 🐾Mellow is doing amazing in her current foster home, but she is still learning how to live inside a house instead of on the end of a chain. She is fully vetted, friendly with other dogs, and ready to learn! She does love to chew (she's just making up for lost time!), so she needs a patient foster/adopter family who can give her durable toys and teach her good house manners. (Cat status: Unknown). WNCSNA is currently facing an increased workload. Apart from our regular bi-weekly Snippet Bus runs, we have been undertaking additional smaller runs on a weekly basis using our personal cars. We would greatly appreciate it if anyone could donate or sell a midsize cargo van to us at a reasonable price. Furthermore, we are in urgent need of used dog lots, as the number of stray and abandoned dogs is rising and we have nowhere to house them until transport or adoption. Graham County needs immediate access to a shelter and an Animal Control Officer now!!

Please be aware that our scheduler is on vacation until the week of June 8th, so please do not call until after that date. June 19th is next scheduled spay/neuter day. Alternatively, you can visit the Christian Veterinary Mission clinic on June 5th and 6th. Flyer below.

We still have several dogs in our care and could use some dog food again. They don't quit eating! We also deliver to people in the community when they need a helping hand. WNCSNA goes through cat food as fast as we get it, helping to feed the community's feral cats too. Dry big bags are probably the best for the money. If you can help, please send to

This is Mellow. She and her brother were left abandoned. Mellow is currently in a foster home and has undergone spaying. She is great with her foster sister pup and all individuals. Mellow is around a year old and weighs 70 pounds. She is doing well with training and would be a great asset to any family. Please reach out if you are interested in adopting this sweet dog.
