Update on Ollie: Not the update we were hoping for

Sunday night and Monday Ollie was doing great other than some irregular breathing that we figured was just stress from moving. We had a vet appointment scheduled for this Friday to take him and get checked over. Come Tuesday he took a turn for the worse and was refusing to eat and was open mouth breathing. We had plans to rush him to the emergency vet but heartbreakingly he suddenly seized and passed in my arms. Poor Ollie didn’t have much time with us but I know he at least was able to have a happy last few days. We will miss you sweet boy

We picked up a new surrender yesterday. Meet Ollie!

We weren’t told much about Ollie other than that he doesn’t like other piggy’s and that his name is Ollie 😅. We are unsure of his age but guessing over 4 years old. Unfortunately he is not in great condition and has likely never had his nails trimmed by his past owners. He also appears to potentially have a cataract in one eye but the vet will be accessing that next week.

As we are now his 5th home, he won’t be up for adoption and he will be spending the rest of his years here where he will be getting a quality diet and lots of love

Marshmallow is officially up for adoption!
He/she will be ready to be picked up in 1 week after quarantine is finished.

I have decided to let Marshmallow be adopted separately from Shaggy and Bob. Marshmallow is twice the size of the others, and he doesn't have any injuries that need healing, unlike the other two. Shaggy and Bob need to stay longer in order to heal and I feel that Marshmallow needs to make some friends his/her own size and not have to wait for Shaggy and Bob.

Here is some info about Marshmallow:
Age: ~2 years
Gender: Unknown (leaning towards a male)
Breed/Variety: Comet Goldfish
Personality: Expressive but not mean towards others, chill

Here is the link to the adoption application:

This application is for our aquatic species only. Please be honest when filling out questions. Honest answers mean that you will be matched with a new pet that wont give you issues down the line due to not having the correct needs.

Check out what great water conditions and a nutritional diet can do in a week! Shaggy’s fin is starting to grow back!

Goldfish update:

Everyone made it through the night. I assessed everyone’s injuries and started the goldfish on some aquarium salt. The big yellow one (Marshmallow) has no injuries and will be up for adoption after their month long quarantine. The entirely orange one (Shaggy) has some damage to his fins and should make a full recovery with possibly being up for adoption after quarantine. The orange and white one (Bob) has no fins left except his tail. As of now he is doing ok and getting around decent so hopefully he will eventually make a full recovery. Lastly, the Chinese algae eater (Lexi) is swimming around a little, but mostly hiding. He has one of his fins completely missing and his tail is damaged, but should make a full recovery.

I went and picked up some new rescues today. I saw a post in a group for someone just giving them away and after seeing the condition these fish were in, I knew I had to go get them.

These pictures were taken while I was picking them up, they are now in a quarantine tank in the dark to help with their moving stress. I’m not sure if the orange and white one is going to make it because he is in really bad shape, but I’m going to try and treat his wounds. The Chinese algae eater is now separated from the goldfish to make sure he doesn’t get hurt anymore but he is really stressed.

I will update their progress in a couple days

Two new surrenders just arrived. Meet Bonnie and Clyde. These two are black skirt tetras. I believe Bonnie is female and Clyde is male. They will be up for adoption once quarantine is complete.
