Congratulations to the Rigby FFA chapter as they return from State Career Development Events at the University of Idaho. The chapter took 10 teams to compete against over 70 chapters from across the state.
Returning home as state champions are the Veterinary Science with team members Avery Oswald first high individual, Anna Warner second high individual, Blake Jossi third high individual, and Emily Jossi forth high individual.
In the Agricultural Communications event Rigby earned the state championship. Also recognized as an individual state champion was Braxton Pancheri for his broadcast production. Other team members include Addison Nielson, Ella Dixon, and Brylie Spaulding.
In the Environmental Natural Resources event the team earned a state championship. Individual team members are Kash Smith second high individual, Keylee Harris fourth high individual, Grace Barrett fifth high individual, and McKall Campbell.
The Dairy Cattle Evaluation team also earned 1st place. Team members are Halle Nicholes and Kalli Smith who tied for 5th high individual, Keylee Harris and Charlene Rediske.
Rigby also won a state championship in the Forestry event. Individual state champion was Rhett Reynolds, placing third Blake Jossi and placing 9th Straton Nelson, additional team member was Jasper Wasylow.
Rigby placed second in the Livestock Evaluation event. Individuals placing were Alice Wilson third and Ella Dixon ninth, additional team members were Chyloh Billman and Amaiya Rice.
Rigby had two teams place third. In the Agricultural Mechanics event Bry Waddoups was the state champion in tool identification and Vincent Kisner placed fourth in the arc welding event. Additional team members were Tyson Torngren and Driggs Bennett.
In the meat cooler Rigby placed third in the Meats Evaluation event. Team members included Kailynn Clark fourth high individual, Tymber Billman, Cynthia Squires, and Halle Nicholes.
Rigby had two teams placed fifth. In the Food Science event were team members Evelyn Burt, Addie Mortimer, Mary Bennett, and Declan Mower.
Rigby's Nursery Landscape also placed 5th. Team members were Tanna Rice, Emily Jossi, Lena Jossi, and Charlene Rediske.
Two members of the Rigby FFA chapter also competed in the Agronomy event where they placed 10th. Successful team members were Cynthia Squires and Michael Lenz.
