Today, we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and heart of so many amazing people—and we couldn't let the day go by without recognizing the incredible individuals who make rescue possible! ❤️

To our fosters, volunteers, transporters, shelter partners, adopters, supporters, and everyone who helps us save lives—thank you. Your hard work, time, and compassion make a difference for every single dog who comes through our rescue.

Rescue work may not always be easy, but seeing a scared dog learn to trust, watching a puppy grow in a loving foster home, and celebrating the moment a dog finds their forever family makes every bit of hard work worth it. 🥹🐶❤️

🐾 WE NEED MORE FOSTERS! 🐾

Jefferson County Canine Rescue is growing faster than we ever imagined, and with that growth comes an even bigger need for loving foster homes. ❤️ We have more pups coming soon, and we need amazing people willing to open their homes and hearts to help us give them a safe place to land.

Fostering is one of the most important parts of rescue. Without fosters, we simply can't save as many dogs in need. Every foster home gives a dog the chance to leave the stress of a shelter and experience love, comfort, safety, and what it means to be part of a family. 🏡🐶

And the best part? We cover the costs! 🙌

🐾 Meet Toby! 🐾

Toby is a 7-year-old Pug/Chihuahua mix who is ready to find a family to love for the rest of his days. ❤️

This sweet boy has so much love to give and is looking for someone who will appreciate all the wonderful things that come with adopting an older dog. With Toby, there’s no need to go through the rough puppy stage—no endless puppy chaos, no constant supervision, and no waiting for him to grow into his personality. Vader is an 8-week-old Lab mix who is doing wonderfully in his foster home. He is eating and drinking well, sleeping great, and learning all about the important things in puppy life! He is already using puppy pads while in his kennel and beginning to figure out the doggy door.

Vader absolutely loves being around people and is happiest when he can be close to his humans. ❤️ He also loves being outside, exploring the grass, and discovering the big, exciting world around him! 🌿🐶

Glenoaks is one of those special girls.

At just 7 months old, this beautiful Terrier/Shepherd mix has already been through more than any puppy should. We may never know exactly what her past looked like, but it is clear that Glenoaks has experienced neglect and is still learning that people can be kind, gentle, and safe. 💔

She may not run right up to you at first. She may keep her distance and choose to avoid situations that make her uncomfortable. But please don't mistake her fear for a lack of love. Glenoaks has absolutely no aggression—she simply needs time, patience, and someone willing to let her come around at her own pace.

Because once she lets you in... you have a best friend for life. ❤️

One of the most beautiful things about Glenoaks is how much she loves other dogs. When she met her foster's Pit Bull, you could practically see her relax. 🐶💕 Other dogs bring her comfort and help her feel safe, and a confident canine companion could be exactly what she needs in her forever home.

Ribbon is a beautiful 4-year-old Bulldog who has so much love to give. She is sweet, affectionate, and loves being close to her people. She does wonderful with children and would love nothing more than to be part of a family where she can feel safe, loved, and truly belong. 🥹🐾

Ribbon may not be the perfect fit for every home, but we know her perfect home is out there. She can be selective with other dogs and would do best as the only dog or in a home with submissive male dogs.

She is doing great with her crate and appears to be house trained, with no accidents in her foster home so far.

Rey is a playful, energetic, curious, and sometimes adorably clumsy puppy. She loves exploring, playing tug-of-war, and chewing on her favorite toys—but when playtime is over, she’s always ready for cuddles and a good nap! ❤️

She has been amazing with kids, dogs, and cats so far. She can be a little cautious with new things but quickly warms up once she feels comfortable.
