Devastating fire at a rescue that serves shelters we also support - these are friends and the rescue owner is injured and 30 cats lost their lives.

Today, we're asking our supporters to come together and help a fellow rescue in need.
Last night, Purrfect Hearts Cat Rescue in Wilson experienced a devastating fire that claimed the lives of multiple rescue cats and left founder Alice Pierce facing an unimaginable loss and leaving her severely injured. Our hearts are with Alice, her volunteers, and everyone affected by this tragedy.
For years, Purrfect Hearts has been a lifeline for cats in Wilson and the surrounding communities. As one of the area's largest TNR organizations, they work tirelessly to help more than 30 cats each week through spay/neuter efforts, rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. They have dedicated countless hours to improving the lives of animals and advocating for animal welfare across North Carolina.
Because of this heartbreaking loss, much of that lifesaving work will have to pause while they focus on recovery. Right now, they need the support of the rescue community and animal lovers everywhere to help them get back on their feet and continue their mission.
Donations of canned cat food, blankets, towels, and monetary contributions are greatly needed. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference.
