This round of photos is so near and dear to my heart. Last month, I had the absolute joy of sitting Nugget (and the crew!) for a week. For those of you who don’t know, Nugget is the namesake and inspiration behind Nugget’s Nursery.
A decade ago, Nugget came into my life as a service dog in training. After raising her for two years, she graduated from the service dog program and was matched with an incredible young woman. Together, they make the most amazing team — and I feel so incredibly blessed that I get to remain a part of Nugget’s life and witness the two of them working together. It truly is inspiring.
Nugget’s family has since gone on to raise service dogs themselves, continuing to pay that love and support forward. 🥹🤎
Even though that chapter of my life is behind me, raising Nugget was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. It taught me so much about the incredible ways dogs can bring confidence, comfort, and companionship into our lives.
And all these years later, Nugget reminds me why I fell so deeply in love with this work in the first place!
