Brecker will be 14 on Black Friday. He unexpectedly came into my life a few
months after my father passed in 2012. He was tossed from a pickup truck in a
garbage bag in Gainesville, Texas when he was 10 weeks old and waited for me at Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter. I took him home on impulse because his eyes told me he was mine. He jumped over a practice jump at an agility trial when he was 16 weeks old and that became a new passion. I ran course ‘puzzles’ in dirt arenas in the heat and the cold because he loved it. I studied canine anatomy, learned therapeutic massage and trigger point massage to help him stay healthy.
He had a nephrectomy almost two years ago to remove a tumor on his kidney and his remaining kidney is doing well! Canine fitness, hydrotherapy, acupuncture, supplements, consults with a certified nutritionist and canine mental enrichment is part of our lives.
I have met some wonderful people on our journey and made good friends outside of my professional music life. 🎻 I do it all for the moments we have when he puts his head in my lap and looks up at me with those eyes. I would spend my last penny on him. He isn’t a dog. He is an angel gifted to me to help make me a better person. ♥️
