Animals are highly routine-oriented. They hear farm equipment daily, associate it with positive things (like fresh hay or clean stalls), and know exactly what to expect. Steady, Drone Sounds: Farm machinery creates a predictable, consistent drone.

Car alarms, sudden bass drops, and changing musical rhythms are highly unpredictable. To a goat, an erratic or sudden booming noise mimics the sound of an approaching predator or a collapsing environment, triggering an immediate "fight-or-flight" panic.

Goats and sheep have incredibly sharp hearing. Research shows they can detect sounds at much lower amplitudes than humans. What sounds "a bit loud" to us can feel like an absolute sensory assault to them.

Sudden or prolonged loud noises (like car alarms or music hitting over 85–100 dB) trigger an immediate spike in cortisol and adrenaline. For senior animals or those with heart conditions, this severe cardiovascular strain can lead to sudden shock or heart failure.

Low-frequency bass creates intense physical vibrations. At close range, this literally rattles a small ruminant's internal organs and skeletal system. This causes extreme disorientation, panic, and can even cause their complex digestive systems (rumens) to shut down, leading to life-threatening bloat.

While a healthy goat might try to run away from a loud noise, elderly or disabled animals can't flee. Being trapped near a terrifying sound forces them into a state of intense fear. In their panic, they are also highly prone to falling, slipping, or accidentally injuring themselves.

🚗 Check your vehicle: Please double-check that your car is locked securely so alarms aren't accidentally triggered near the pastures.
🎵 Keep it down nearby: If you are driving near the property or working close to the fences, please keep music and bass turned down.
