Raising, training, and competing with responsibly bred Australian Shepherds!

July-August has been an overwhelming flurry of activity and life stuff going on, but I am going to catch up on some August results!

At the Marquette AKC show this past weekend, we had a blast and completed all the goals I had!
- Pending AKC approval: presenting NEW AKC CH REAPER! 🎉 All his points were collected from the BBX class, so I’ll be proudly awaiting my second BBX CH medal from the AKC! He went BOS over a special to finish!
- Giddy did 1 run of Obedience and not only qualified with a 194.5/1st place in a very tough environment to finish his AKC CD (we were heeling over bird droppings in a horse barn, LOL), we went HIGH IN TRIAL under our favorite OB judge, Chuck Klein! 🤩
- Bug earned her CGC with ease! We’ll be working on other things this fall/winter with her, but this is a good start!
- baby LaLa won the puppy herding group at the match!
- honorable mention and congrats to new CH Quinn (Irish Setter) that I handled to most of his championship as well as a BOB win, and to GCH Perdy (Elkhound) that I piloted to a nice 4pt major select win this weekend!

At the Rock River Valley ASC show earlier this month:
- Joy picked up her 3rd Altered major; she now needs just 2 singles to finish! Special thanks to Kay for taking her in the ring for me!
- honorable mention and huge congrats to new ASCA CH Kit, that I handled to those last 2 majors he needed to finish!
- We showed the puppies one show for fun and leash broke them at the same time, LOL. We were the only entry, but Grinch went BOBp and GoGo went BOSp

Reaper went WD at West Bend AKC show today for another point! 🎉 We also won Bred By Exhibitor BOB and got to play in the group ring, though no love there. The smooth collie that won the group was absolutely lovely though ❤️❤️

Popped Batty into the fun match hosted by the Lagotto club at the West Bend shows today. Herding group 1st!
Been waiting for her to grow up a bit before getting her out as I want her to really shine, and she showed me today that she is ready for the big girl ring now! 😎 We had so much fun!

She carried her prize (the toy) all the way back to the setup, too 🤣

The Winds are 8 weeks old! Vet exams were yesterday and everyone is healthy ❤️ Their temperaments are absolutely lovely, and this is an extremely nice looking group of babies. I do know who my personal keeper is, and have for a while 🤫 but they’re going to be here a few more weeks to grow and learn from mama North some more yet before placement decisions are made. I think I might still have a boy and a couple girls looking; feel free to reach out to discuss :)

The Winds are 6.5 weeks old, and long overdue for a little photo shoot! We prepared a charcuterie board of bait options for this, and discovered that all but one are sharp cheddar aficionados like their mother! 🧀

Its still early yet, but as they are starting to come into themselves I think Argestes (male grey short coat fawn) may be looking for a show home - I’m struggling hard with not keeping a boy 😅
For the girls, I may have a show home spot open and another couple spots for working guardian homes.

Crossroads ASC show was a success!

Lippy (Mick X Blaire) went WB/BOS under Dawn Williams for a 3pt major, and WB/BOS under Wendy Finsterwald for 4pt major over a special! She also finished her ASCA RN with a 197/2nd place (I think, lol)

Bug (Jagger X Joy) made her debut in ASCA confo this weekend and didn’t disappoint, going Reserve to a 4pt major under Liz Busquets and Reserve to another major under Marie Murphy!
Echolight Cute As A Bug’s Ear

Honorable mention to Kit (WDx2, RWDx2) and Atlas (WDx1) that I handled this weekend as well. Huge congrats to their owners!

The Toaster Strudel was only entered in 1 show today at the ASCMI show, and went BOS for another major towards SCCHE and some more finals points. We haven’t shown since November so only hanging onto intact top 30 by threads, but this should help! I was going to put her away in ASCA after this weekend and just do AKC, but now I think I may reconsider that notion 🤔🤣

The Winds are 3 weeks old tomorrow! A few are still on the smaller side getting spoiled with bottles occasionally, but I started everyone on gruel with goat milk last night and they were all fans (although the really struggled with the concept of eating out of a bowl at first; LOL). Should be steadily uphill from here on out!
They are walking, talking, starting to play in slow motion, and some of them are already really seeking me out for cuddles now.

I have some room on the waitlist for some girls and maybe 1 boy yet. Feel free to reach out to chat :)

Well…hello there 👁️ 👁️

Lips has the first peepers open! Everyone is trending the right way and gaining (some more than others…cough cough Lips, Eurus etc gaining 3+oz/day!). The three smallest (Phoenecias, Zephyrus, Thrascias) I’m still supplementing about twice per day to keep them on the path to catching up to fatty status, but I’m feeling pretty confident everyone is in the clear now! ❤️
North’s incision looks great, and other than a minor tummy upset yesterday because I probably got a little overzealous with offering the beef organs lol she’s also doing spectacularly!

At this point, since everyone is doing well I’m willing to open up the wait list for a few interested parties with the litter being large. Mostly will be girls up for grabs as there are so many, but have room for maybe 1 more boy. Guardian & show, maybe companion/general farm guardian on a case by case basis as Norths and Mandos temperaments are SO wonderful and discerning 🥰 I’ve been getting a ton of interest in them but haven’t really been pushing for any commitments yet, so if you think you want something, let me know asap. This will likely be North’s only litter, as she’s over 5yrs now and I really want to get her back in condition to see if we can snag that last AKC Major to finish. Too bad I can’t turn in all the barely-broken winners and major reserves for it, LOL
