🧬 BULLY BREEDING 101: BE PREPARED BEFORE THE PUPPIES COME 🐾

Breeding XL American Bullies is a lot more than putting two good-looking dogs together. A responsible breeder plans ahead, prioritizes health and temperament, and has the right supplies ready before whelping day. 💯

🍼 SUPPLIES EVERY BREEDER SHOULD HAVE:
• Whelping box with pig rails
• Washable bedding & plenty of clean towels
• Heating pad or safe heat source + thermometer
• Digital puppy scale
• Bulb syringe / suction device
• Disposable gloves
• Hemostats & sterile scissors
• Unwaxed dental floss for emergency cord ties
• Puppy ID collars
• Puppy-safe disinfectant & cleaning supplies
• Milk replacer + bottles/syringes as a backup
• Feeding tubes only if you've been properly trained to use them
• Notebook or digital log for weights, feedings & observations
• Emergency supplies recommended by your veterinarian
• Your regular vet AND emergency vet numbers saved before labor begins 🚨

💎 TIPS & TRICKS:
👉 Start taking the dam's temperature and watching for behavioral changes as the expected date approaches.
👉 Weigh every puppy consistently and track the numbers—trends can help you spot a struggling puppy early.
👉 Keep puppies warm, dry and nursing, but make sure they can move away from the heat source.
👉 Keep the whelping area CLEAN. Sanitation matters.
👉 Don't wait until there's an emergency to figure out where the nearest 24-hour vet is.
👉 Know the warning signs of difficult labor and when veterinary attention is needed.
👉 Give the mother constant access to fresh water and veterinarian-recommended nutrition during nursing.
👉 Have a plan for every puppy before you create the litter.

Most importantly: never stop learning. Every litter can teach you something, but preparation and veterinary guidance can make a major difference when something doesn't go according to plan.
