Hi there, I’m Mack!💙

I’m a sweet, lovable guy with a heart as big as my dreams of finding my forever family.🥰 Life started a little rough for me—I was found as a stray in San Antonio with an injured eye. It healed a bit funny, but thanks to some kind humans, I recently had surgery to fix it!🥳 Now, I’m feeling better than ever and ready for my next adventure.

I’m about 2–3 years old and the perfect size—big enough for great hugs but small enough to fit just right on your couch (or your lap if you let me!).😆 I can be a little shy at first, but give me a moment, and I’ll be your best buddy. I get along well with adults, older kids, and other dogs, and while I see cats outside, I just give them a polite nod and go about my business.😊

My favorite things? Toys, walks, and a good lounge session! I love tossing my toys around and making my own fun, but I’m also crate-trained, house-trained, and great on a leash—so I’m a total catch!🤗 Oh, and did I mention I love treats? Because I do. A lot.

I’m such a good boy, and all I need now is a family to love me forever. Could that be you?🐶

Meet Tiago!🩵

He came all the way from Texas, carrying a heart full of hope and just a little bit of fear. At only 10 months old, life has already thrown him some challenges, but through it all, he remains the sweetest, gentlest soul.🥰 He wants so badly to trust, to love, to play without hesitation—but right now, he’s still learning how.

Other dogs seem to be his guiding light, showing him that the world isn’t so scary after all. He follows their lead, finding comfort in their presence. He would do best living with another dog in a home. He’s even met a cat and, despite the mystery of this small, aloof creature, he handled it like a gentleman.🐶 He has been coming around to people a lot the past week, so he just needs time!🥹

Loud noises and fast movements make him hesitate, so he’d do best in a home with older kids who understand that trust takes time. We don’t know exactly what his past looked like, but we do know it wasn’t easy. And yet, he wags his tail, hoping for something better.🥺

In his kennel, he rests peacefully. On a leash, he walks with quiet determination, still figuring out the whole “potty on the leash” thing, but he shines in the safety of a fenced yard. He shares his toys, his bones, and—most importantly—his heart.❤️

Now, all he needs is a family who will see past his shyness, who will help him bloom into the confident, happy pup he was always meant to be. A family who will show him that love isn’t something to be earned—it’s something that’s given, freely and forever. Could that family be you?😊

What did we do in February?! ❤️

February was another busy month at Border Paws! We had vet visits for vaccines, check-ups, and surgeries to keep our pups healthy and thriving.🐶Thanks to our amazing supporters, we received plenty of yummy donations, keeping tails wagging and minds busy! 🦴
We also hosted an event, had help from our volunteers, and purchased supplies to continue our mission. 🐾

Every bit of support-whether through donations, time, or spreading the word— makes a huge difference for our rescue dogs. 🥹❤️

Hi there, it’s me Gwen! 🥰

I’m STILL waiting for my purfect family and hope they come for me very soon.🥺

Did you know I’m a dumpster-diving survivor? Yep, I was found in a KFC dumpster in Texas with my siblings, Maisie and Blake. Talk about a finger-lickin’ good start to life, huh? 🐾🍗 But I made it through, and now, at 2 years old, I’m ready for my happily-ever-after!

I’m as sweet as sugar and as snuggly as they come. I love kids (I’m super gentle with them!) and get along great with other dogs—especially the big ones. Playtime is my jam, but I also know how to settle in for a good nap on the couch or a cozy dog bed. Belly rubs? Yes, please! Big hugs? My specialty!

I LOVE going on hikes and many adventures! I’m a great adventure buddy and i can be off leash hiking with the right tools and owner.🥰 I’m the perfect companion for an active family with other dogs!🐶

I’m a smart girl and know how to go to my kennel on command, and I do just fine in the car—I’ll stay in the back like a good girl. I also have a solid recall (unless, of course, a rabbit is involved… then all bets are off). Speaking of rabbits, catching one is definitely on my bucket list—I get so close!😆

I won’t lie, I can be a little skittish around men at first, but with a little patience, I warm up just fine.☺️ I do bark for about five minutes after my people leave the house, but then I settle in until they get back—so apartment living might not be my thing. Oh, and baths? Let’s just say I tolerate them…🫣

I’ve done well with a 5’ fence, never trying to jump it, but in my last home, an electric fence worked great for me too. I’m still working on my leash skills, but I promise I’m trying my best!

But here’s the thing—I really need a foster or forever family soon. 🥺 The kennel environment is getting really hard for me. I’m such an amazing, loving girl, but I need out—I just want a home where I can feel safe, loved, and happy again.

If you can’t adopt, please consider fostering—or at least sharing my story to help me find my perfect match. I know my people are out there, and I’m so ready to meet them. Could it be you? 💖

Hi, I’m Tatum! 🧡

I am about 5 months old right now and already took a big adventure all the way from Texas to South Dakota!🚗 When I grow up, I’ll be a large sized girl, which just means more of me to love! I’m about 32lbs right now!😆

Since I’m still a puppy, I’m looking for a family who will help me learn all the important things—like where the treats are and how many belly rubs I can get in a day!🐶 I’m already a pro at kennel time and doing awesome with potty training, especially with a doggy door.

I absolutely love playing with other dogs and even do well with cats (as long as they don’t mind a little puppy energy). I’m super sweet and a pretty well-mannered girl for my age! Sometimes, I can be a little shy around big dogs or new places, but give me a little time, and my fun personality will shine through!🤗

Oh, and back in Texas, my fosters always called me “puppy,” so I totally answer to that too!☺️ I know I’ll make my future family very happy—could it be you? I can’t wait to find out!🥰

Prairie Thunder Photography LLC was so kind to set up a fundraiser for us and we are so excited to see the turnout!🥰 This sounds like a lot of fun and we hope many of you participate to get your pets photo in the calendar!🐶

Starting March 8, 2025, by donating $5 to enter your pet in the 2026 Calendar contest and then vote for your pet for $1 a vote! All proceeds go to support Border Paws Dog Rescue and our mission to save dogs from high kill shelters. The 12 pets with the most votes will earn a spot in each month of the calendar and the grand prize winner will also get the coveted cover photo. All 12 winners will also receive a mini photo session by Prairie Thunder Photography LLC to get the calendar photos.
