🐾💕 MEET RIVER! 💕🐾
River was brought to the shelter by one of our attendants as a stray. She was found in our local mall parking lot. She was never reclaimed. She is microchipped and the information on the chip stated that she is 9 years , 8 months old. She is 49.2 lbs and is a Lab mix. Sadly, she was never reclaimed.
Upon intake, the following was noted: She appears to be older and has some broken/ worn teeth. She is also HEARTWORM POSITIVE. Per her microchip information she is spayed and her DOB is 09/08/2017. River also does have what appears to be a skin tag on her a**s. She is very outgoing and playful and loves to play fetch! River is also a very smart girl and knows her basic commands she will gladly show you for a treat. She loves to go outside for walks and does pull on the leash when she first goes outside but will settle down after a few minutes. She is a very sweet older lady that has a lot of love to give!
Dog Test: River was very excited to make a new friend! She was ready to play and explore her surroundings with her new canine friend.
Cat Test: She was very interested in our feline friend but did not show any negative behaviors towards our feline friend. Our feline friend did hiss and she was okay with admiring him from a distance.
Please help River find rescue! Our shelter is full!

UPDATE - 10/20/2026- SHE IS STILL IN NEED OF RESCUE! SHE HAS HAD NO INTEREST!

🐾💕 MEET LADY LEGASUS! 💕🐾Meet Lady Legasus, she was brought to the shelter as a stray by one of our officers. She was found seeking shelter on a citizen’s back porch, and the citizen had never seen her before in their neighborhood. No one came to reclaim her. Lady Legasus is estimated to be a 3 Yr old, 80lb., Great Dane Mix.
Upon intake the following was noted: She has one dewclaw on her back right food and the one on her rear left foot is missing. She also had a thin body condition and a flea infestation. A slight tart buildup was also noticed on her teeth.
She is a very smart girl that has quickly learned how to sit in return for some tasty treats. Lady Legasus also knows how to walk on a leash and is very excited to get out and explore. She is very in tune with her surroundings; if she hears a noise she will try to figure out where it is coming from. She has been housed near another dog that has shown upper respiratory symptoms so as a precaution she has been started on Doxycycline. She is not symptomatic at this time.
Dog Test: Lady Legasus is happy to make new friends! She will happily sniff the other dog with no negative interactions.
Cat Test: She was very intrigued by our feline friend and was happy to observe him. She did not show any negativity towards him.

UPDATE: 10/20/2026- RESCUED BY RANDOLPH COUNTY SPCA

🐾💕 MEET AGATHA! 💕🐾
Agatha was brought to our shelter as a stray by one of our officers and was never reclaimed. She is estimated to be a 6-8 Yrs old, 49.6lb., Hound mix.
Upon intake, Agatha was noted to have some patches of fur missing on her body and neck. She also has what appears to be and older injury and irritated skin on her rear right leg. Agatha also appears to be in need a dental; she has excessive tartar buildup on her teeth.
Agatha is a sweet older hound that loves to let her nose lead the way wen walking! She does walk well on a leash. Agatha is unsure of toys, but she does loves treats! She is currently learning how to sit and is doing great!
Dog Test: Agatha did great! She causally approached the other dog and let them sniff her and then was ready to go about her business.
Cat Test: Agatha was curious and sniffed our feline friend but lost interest in him and showed no negative reaction.

Update-10/12/26- Rescued by Loving Pet Project NC

❤ Meet Lilly! ❤
Lilly is estimated to be a 7–9-year-old Hound mix that weighs 33.6 lbs. She was brought to the shelter after one of our ACOS picked her up as a stray. She was found in a citizen’s yard trying to seek shelter in their back yard behind a building. Unfortunately, she was never reclaimed. Upon intake the following was noted: She is very thin and had a flea infestation and several broken and worn teeth. Lilly is startled very easily and does not know how to walk on a leash. With some time and patience, she does start to open up. She does seem to be excited when you come to visit her in her kennel she will wag her tail happily. She is unsure about treats and toys. If she gets scared, she will appear to shut down and not want to move. She is sweet girl who needs some positive encouragement to come out of her shell. For her dog test: she did not mind or pay any attention to the other dog. For her cat test: she was not interested in the cat. Our cat was as sweet as can be and even was purring and trying to soothe her with some gentle rubs. Please help Lilly find rescue we are FULL!

🚨❤️ RESCUE NEEDED FOR MARY! ❤️🚨
Meet Mary! 🐾
Mary is an approximately 10-year-old, 4-month-old Lab mix who weighs 51.4 pounds. She was brought to our shelter by a concerned citizen after she was found wandering the streets during a storm. She was posted as a stray, but sadly, no one came forward to reclaim her.
During intake, Mary was noted to be an older dog with tartar buildup on her teeth. She is microchipped and has such a wonderful, loving personality.
Mary is microchipped, but the person registered to the microchip never reached out to reclaim her.
Despite everything she has been through, Mary is as sweet as can be! She is a loving, easygoing girl who seems to take everything in stride. She has such a gentle and wonderful disposition.
Dog Test: Mary did very well! She showed little interest in the other dog and did not have any negative reaction.
Cat Test: Mary also did well with the cat. The cat was comfortable with her initially and became a little spicy toward the end of the test. Mary did not flinch or show any negative reaction.
Please Help Mary our shelter is FULL!!
