Hummingbird feeders….

Hummingbirds are making their way south!

Each fall, these tiny dynamos travel thousands of miles from breeding habitats across Canada and the United States to nonbreeding grounds in Central America. Along the way, they rely on networks of flowering native plants and healthy habitat to fuel their journey.

If you want to help these little jewels on their journeys south, remember to keep your feeders clean! Use a 1:4 white sugar-to-water ratio and change the mixture every few days, especially in warmer weather. No one likes mold or ants ruining their food — hummingbirds included!

Legislation and government processes can be difficult to follow. The Regulatory Roost is a new AFA educational series that breaks down the terms, procedures, and policies that can affect birds, aviculturists, and the future of aviculture.

Today, we’re explaining the difference between a LAW and a REGULATION:

A LAW, or statute, is created by an elected legislative body and establishes broad policies, rights, requirements, or prohibitions.

A REGULATION, or rule, is created by a government agency to explain how a law will be implemented and enforced.

It’s supposed to be a little cooler this week and less rain here so I’m going to be baking today for 4 Rescues and 3 customers that are back ordered So flavors I’m baking that travel well are Power Veggie, P’banutty, Nutty Seniors, and Hot Pepper. Let me know if you want me to bake and mail this week for your fids!
