Congratulations to K9 Trigger and handler, Sgt Justin Velez on your recent graduation from East Coast Canine Inc.! After 400 hours of rigorous training the duo is now certified in narcotics detection, tracking, obedience, and apprehension. The Hawk Fire near Reno, NV started burning Saturday, August 22nd and has rapidly grown to over 15,000 acres causing thousands of people to be evacuated from their homes. AKC Reunite has donated $5,000.00 to the Washoe County Regional Animal Services in Sparks, NV. From day one their staff and volunteers have stepped up and have been working non-stop to provide shelter and care for those displaced with their pets. We thank their team for their dedication to assuring the pets in their care are safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those that are impacted.
