Long post warning! We are so incredibly sad that instead of putting on the show we worked so hard for today, we are boxing up the prizes and ribbons and loading new poles and standards back onto the trailer to haul back to storage. I want to thank all the people who have reached out to us to see if something can be done to turn this around. I also wanted to give some insight to the decision that was made. As of Thursday morning, we had roughly 26 entries ready to show with a handful that we knew were coming as well as expectations for a few entries to show up the day of to end with about 30-35 entries. By Thursday afternoon, we had 3 full scratches with a few more pending and we had multiple entries drop from a full division entry to just 2 classes. While we support every rider in their journey and want to provide a show that meets them where they are, this does impact other riders and how the classes run. By the time we called the show, we had 23 committed entries TOTAL split between two arenas. We would have had to combine ALL hunter classes 2' and above to run a full division and offer prizes and we would only be running two divisions in Jumpers. Out of 12 divisions, we would be combining classes to get to 3. For the riders that we new were coming that hadn't pre-entered, we knew that they would end up competing against only their own barn mates and that was something that was expressed was the one thing they didn't want. Out of respect for those riders, and all the trainers, we didn't feel it was right to allow you all to come down and not have a competietive, well-paced show. There is also the business side of this. We have ran multiple shows and have not pulled a single penny for profit. We continue to invest back into this show to continue to build it and improve it for everyone involved. We have put thousands into it so far and spending more on judges, crew, and the venue for a half day of showing didn't make sense. I say this all to just inform you of the thought process. We had some really fun things in the works for future shows and we don't know what the future holds for those, but we are cautiously optimistic after the outpouring of private messages we have received. For those of you that had planned to come, if you don't pre-register and don't send some sort of message that you plan to come, we can't plan properly, so if we are able to run again, I kindly request that you at least send a message or reply to a post that just says you plan to come. Please accept our deepest apologies for the cancellation. It was not an easy decision to make and lots of tears have been shed over it.
