My Life as a Foster Cat

My Life as a Foster Cat This page details the adventures of foster cats who are currently waiting to be adopted into forever homes.

We do not operate out of a shelter, instead we rely on a network of foster homes to care for our animals until they are adopted. My Life as a Foster Cat focuses on the cats and kittens who are cared for by volunteers at Puyallup Animal Rescue, a foster home-based rescue organization, located in Pierce County WA. We are dedicated to finding homes for dogs and cats and will care for them until they find their right match and forever family.

Zippy & Volt are a pair of 6 month old, neutered male kittens.

Both are black with white kittens with tuxedo markings. Zippy has a black chin, while Volt has a white chin, so they can easily be told apart from one another.

Both kittens are curious and playful and sweet. And at times, they both get crazy zoomies!

He is confident after he gets comfortable in new situations, initially, he can be shy.

They doesn’t like being held, and would rather play. After he has played, he with snuggle right against you.

Both will sit in your lap after they have exhausted themselves from playing.

Both brothers are very playful and during their waking hours of the day, they can seen zooming around and chasing each other.

Both love playing with toys, including feather wands and chasing after small fabric mice or in paper bags. Volt will at times bury his toys in the litterbox! Zippy loves paperbags!

These brothers have only been around their mother, who has taught them basic manners. They would need a slow introduction to new cats.

They are curious about the sound of dogs in their foster home, however they have not shared space with them yet.

Volt and Zippy have not met any children in their foster home, we do not know how they would react to small humans. They would need a slow introduction and handling by respectful children.

This pair of brothers would like to be adopted together! They would do well in a home with a family who would give them the time they need to warm up and be patient, allowing them to acclimate to their new surroundings. They are active and playful, a family who can provide plenty of attention would be great for them!

The adoption fee is $500 for this wonderful pair.

All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FIV&felv, and have been treated for parasites.

Indy & Boon are a pair of bonded 5-month old, bonded brothers.

Indy is the medium hair gray tabby kitten.

Boon is the black medium hair kitten.

What are these two boys like in their foster home?
Boon is more confident than his brother, however, he can still be skittish, so it depends on if he wants attention. Indy tends to be more skittish than Boon.

They both love playing with toys and eat they are really big eaters.

Boon tends to tolerate being picked up more than Indy, however neither of them love being held, they prefer to being petted instead. They will purr up a storm when they are content with the amount of attention.

They are both pretty active and love playing with each other. They tend to be scared, or easily startled. They will need time to be gradually desensitized to new things.

Their favorite toy currently is the feather wand to chase and plush toys.

They don’t seem to mind other adult cats, and would just need a gradual introduction.

We do not know how they feel about dogs.

Indy and Boon would do best in a home without small children.

They would love a quiet home with low traffic. Another friendly adult cat who could show them how to become brave little cats would be great. They need a family who will give them the time necessary to come out of their shells.

The adoption fee is $500 for this wonderful pair.

All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FIV&felv, and have been treated for parasites.

Gimli was rescued on the 4th of July and has since then gone from being terrified of everything to confident and curious! He discovered what it’s like to play and explore in his foster home. And that his all time favorite thing is to purr and cuddle on your lap. When there is a loud noise he still gets ready to run but quickly remembers he is safe and goes back to playing or purring.
