New Kent Humane Society is a non-profit organization which incorporated in January 2009 to address the growing number of homeless animals in our county needing assistance.

🐈 Momma Kitty, (& a Dog Lover), Cali, needs a great home! She’s sooooo done with her 4 little babies, 😂, we are looking for an adopter or a different foster home to help her get away from them.

🍼 She is drying up from 7 long weeks of nursing 4 cuties, so she’s currently not looking her best, but she will dry up and slim down.

Cali is actually a young adult, petite cat herself, as well as very loving and affectionate. Our volunteers will make sure, 💯 that Cali will never have another litter.

‼️‼️ Donations needed for spay/neuter of cats! ‼️‼️

🚨🚨 We are trying to help 2 large cat colonies, where the cats are not spayed and neutered and some kittens are sick. One is located in Lanexa and one is located in New Kent.

🙀 The Lanexa situation is an elderly couple who has 12 cats, and some kittens, who we hope to pull into foster care. So that’s $1200 at bare minimum cost to fix and vaccinate them, IF no cat has medical issues and not including cost of care and food for the kittens.

🐈‍⬛🐈 The New Kent situation has 20-30 cats and we realize, it’s going to take a good long while to complete this one. There are sick kittens here, so we are also looking for some fosters who can nurse sick kittens back to health so they can be adopted.

💸💵 This one is going to cost $2500-$3000, minimum, but realistically much more due to all the sick kittens who need immediate vet care.

We are trying to keep them out of the shelter, so as not to infect any cats already residing there.

🥔 Everyone, meet Tater! 🥔

Tater finds himself in need of a new home at the tender age of 13. 😢

He is a very loving tabby cat, but his longtime cat companion recently passed away and he is grieving. He was showing signs of his grief by urinating more in his litter box and vomiting a few times. He hasn’t shown any irregular behaviors in his foster home.

🥔 Tater has been a well loved and cared for companion, his full medical history is available to his new home. Tater does need a home with no small children, per his former owners, as he’s never been around them.

If you are able to help and adopt this devastated, but loving, senior cat, Tater, (maybe he should be called sweet ‘tater😂) please reach out to us at 804-966-7105. Please leave a message, or text.

He’d be a perfect candidate for our ‘Seniors Fur Seniors’ program.

😊❤️ The Jenna Bash was a roaring success! Enjoy 10 pictures from the festivities.

Many heartfelt Thanks to Proclaiming Grace Outreach for hosting us yesterday, along with help from
New Kent Sheriff's Office Animal Protection, and our volunteers, many animals got out and had a great day!

🎉🎉Adoptions, by the end of the day, 4 cats and 2 dogs were adopted. Clyde (dog) was adopted so fast, we didn’t get his picture. Rollo, who has waited so long for his perfect people, finally found his family.

And cats, Olivia, Angie, Polka Dot, and Sugar Plum all found their purr-fect people.

Thanks to Renee, Sheila, Julia, Miranda, Steven, Tom, Suzy, Terri, Lauren, Victoria, Sandi and friends, Debra, and the 3 teens from the Proclaiming Grace Outreach who assisted in setting up, handling the animals, and packing up. Thank you all for braving the heat and sticking it out so that the animals could get out into the crowds and get some attention.
