A simple way to make grooming easier is choosing the right time for your particular pup. A tired, comfortable dog is much more likely to cooperate than one who just woke up, has to potty, or is bouncing off the walls. And equally a senior dog can’t stand after a nice walk no matter how relaxing.

We spend so much time teaching our dogs, but if we’re paying attention, they’re teaching us too.

They get us outside.
They make us laugh.
They remind us to live in the moment.
They love us on our best days and our worst days.

Not bad advice from someone who occasionally eats p**p and chases squirrels.

I am so passionate about sharing how people can groom pets at home. Not every dog is a great candidate for a grooming salon and some people want to build that bond and save money grooming at home. Every puppy deserves to be groomed safely and comfortably. By a professional or a parent 💕

The absolute most important tool for grooming at home?

Honestly… attitude and patience. 🐾
And yes this is a hill I will die on.

Because your dog remembers how grooming feels way more then they will ever care how they look.

Second place goes to a nail file.

It’s one of the safest, easiest ways to keep them short or get the pups who umm less then love their feet being touched accustomed to at least dealing with a nail trim. A tiny trim here and there absolutely builds up their tolerance. Sometimes even one toe is reason enough to celebrate 🎉
