PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🩷✨

I love all of my pitbull babies, and animals in general. I always hear people say, “I would never get a pitbull” or “Pitbulls are aggressive.” I’ll tell you one thing, I’ve been bitten by more small breed dogs than I ever have by a pitbull, and not once have I been bitten by a pitbull.

You can’t define an animal by its breed. Any animal, and I mean ANY animal, can be aggressive depending on its environment, experiences, and how it’s raised. All of the pitbulls I’ve met throughout my life have been nothing but sweet, and it saddens me that they’re grouped together and labeled as a mean, aggressive breed.

There are places that require them to wear muzzles, ban them from dog parks, and even restrict them from military housing. It makes me so angry, not because I’m a mean person, but because I have so much empathy for animals, and I know the kindness and love they’re capable of giving.

No animal deserves to be treated as less than another just because of its breed or how it looks. 🩷✨They deserve a chance to be loved, understood, and seen as individuals, not judged by stereotypes. This Pit Bull Awareness Month, I hope we can all choose a little more compassion and a little less judgment. 🐾🐾🩷

🐾 A Little Update on Overnight Stays 🐾

I wanted to share a little update with everyone who supports Purr & Paws. ❤️ Effective immediately, my overnight rate will be changing from $55 to $75 per night.

This was not a decision I made lightly. As my business has grown, pet sitting has become my full-time job, and I’ve realized just how much time, travel, and personal expenses go into providing overnight care.

When I stay with your pets, I’m not only away from my own home and routine, but I also have my own pets at home who need me too. Since my wife works full time, we both have to work around our schedules to make sure all of our pets are taken care of while I’m away.

There are also the extra trips back and forth, groceries and other expenses during longer stays, and the time spent completely rearranging my routine around each booking.

I absolutely love getting to care for your pets and being someone you can trust when you can’t be there🫶🏻

My goal has always been to make your pets feel safe, loved, comfortable, and cared for like they’re my own. Since this is now my full time job, I need to make sure my pricing allows me to continue doing that while also taking care of my own family and pets.

My drop in prices will stay the same, with the existing mileage fee for visits more than 10 miles from my home.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has supported my little business, recommended me to friends and family, booked with me, left reviews, or simply trusted me with your babies. Every booking means so much to me, and I’m incredibly grateful that I get to do what I love for a living🩷🐾
