✨These are spoken for but wanted to announce✨

We hatched our last little chicks today, for this season of our lives is coming to an end. While I can’t say it will last forever, I say that our lives as chicken farmers is coming to a halt as of now.
I have enjoyed thoroughly all the things that came with having chickens, well maybe not when it froze here in Oklahoma.. that wasn’t my cup of tea lol

I am embarking on a new journey as we forge onto our next adventure follow me here

FREE RANGE CHICKENS: A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🐔

One of the most common questions I get is:
“Are your chickens free range?”

And I have to physically stop myself from launching into a full-blown TED Talk every single time.

Here’s the behind-the-scenes truth no one sees:

Free-range chickens are not living their best, majestic pioneer lives.
They have the survival skills of a pebble. A confident pebble—but a pebble nonetheless.

Everything wants to eat them.
Hawks. Dogs. Coyotes. Snakes. Raccoons. Possums. The occasional chicken with bad intentions.

And did you know a single laying hen costs around $60 nowadays?
So when someone says they want Henrietta roaming the pasture, laying eggs directly out of a pile of cow turds for the authentic farm experience… what they’re really asking is for me to keep buying replacement chickens.

Honestly, I should charge three times more for free-range eggs than coop-kept eggs—hazard pay included.

So yes, our chickens are well cared for, protected, fed quality feed, and allowed to do chicken things without immediately volunteering as a snack.

Farm fresh doesn’t mean farm foolish.
And trust me—your eggs still taste amazing. 🥚😅

I have a Blue Copper Maran that has FINALLY started laying.. I raised her from a little infant /chick haha
So this is so special to me, I do feel like her eggs are darkening, although I know they won’t get dark dark, I’m okay with that!!

Who else has a Blue Copper Maran? I would love to see her and her eggs!

Hi all!
I wanted to take the time to introduce myself. My name is Stephanie. My husband and I , for the past year have been able to live on part of the homeplace that my husband grew up on. While here I was able to purchase chickens which I have grown to love. I’m just a hobby farm girl. 
 I’ve loved raising small chicks to laying hens and then also incubating my own eggs and raising those as well.

I would love to do a giveaway for those that are interested in raising your own chickens.
 I will have a dozen backyard mix chicks to give away which are made of Copper Marans, Ameracaunas, Buff Orpingtons, with a chance of some being Pure.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to ship them. You will need to pick up and Prague but if  interested just comment below your favorite breed of chicken and extra entry for a picture of your favorite chicken.
