What a week at the Hunter Creek Classic! 💙🐴
We wrapped up an incredible week in Wilsonville, and I couldn’t be more proud of this group of horses and riders. While the ribbons were wonderful, the real victories were the confidence gained, partnerships built, and milestones achieved along the way.
✨ Marissa & Conejo
Marissa and Conejo seemed to get stronger with every round. Their hard work paid off with a win in the THIS Children’s Medal on Saturday, and it was wonderful to watch their consistency and confidence continue to develop throughout the week.
✨ Avery & Rory (Condeza Z)
Watching Avery and Rory come into their own this week was incredibly rewarding. Avery absolutely blew us away with her confidence, even cantering her last two course with poise and trust. These two continue to prove what a wonderful match they are, and it feels like Rory is exactly the partner Avery needs for this exciting new chapter.
A huge thank you to Heidi and Kaitlyn of Charlton Ridge Farms for sharing Rory with the Boss family. We are so excited to watch this partnership continue to grow.
✨ Millie & Dartes
Another partnership that has come together beautifully! Millie was looking for a kind, reliable teacher as she steps confidently into the 2’6” divisions, and Dartes has been exactly that horse.
Their highlight of the week was a fantastic 4th place finish in the $1,000 Cypress Events Local Hunt & Go Derby, along with beautiful rounds throughout the show. They were so much fun to watch together.
Thank you to Vanessa and Paige of Burkwood Farms for sharing such a special horse with the Wakefield family.
✨ Taylor & Rory
Taylor spent the week helping prepare Rory for Avery, and her efforts culminated in earning Champion in the USHJA 2’3” Hunters. Thank you, Taylor, for all of your hard work both in and out of the show ring.
✨ Marissa & Riley
Marissa also stepped into the jumper ring with Riley and rode beautifully in the $1,000 .70/.80m Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic, showing great versatility and confidence.
A special thank you to Tara Johnson for all of her support throughout the week. It truly takes a team, and I appreciate everything she did to help make this such a successful show.
Thank you to our entire horse show family for making this such a special week. From riders and parents to trainers, owners, and supporters, you all help create an environment where we can prioritize what matters most: safe horses, confident riders, good sportsmanship, and having fun. Weeks like this are what make our sport so rewarding. 💙
