No one really talks about how hard it is to rehab a working dog. Not just the breed itself â but the dog youâve poured time, training, goals, and pieces of yourself into. The uncertainty of what the future looks like can sit heavy some days. You replay every movement, every setback, every little change, wondering what comes next.
But through all of it, Iâm incredibly grateful for the knowledge and support that canine PT and me has given us. This process has become such an unexpected learning journey â understanding movement, strength, recovery, compensation, patience, and how to truly listen to your dog in a deeper way.
And somehow, rehab makes the small wins feel even bigger. A stronger movement pattern. A comfortable session. A moment of confidence. Things you may have overlooked before suddenly mean everything.
Finding the right care team matters more than people realize. The people who support your dog, educate you, celebrate the tiny victories with you, and help you navigate the hard days are invaluable.
This journey has changed the way I look at working dogs, longevity, and partnership forever. â¤ď¸
