It’s been exactly one week since Sparkle passed. I can’t believe it. I miss my baby so much every single day. Everyone has been so loving and supportive. I’m overwhelmed by the amount of comments and love you all have left. Thank you. ❤️
Here are some memories from where it all started. I met Sparkle while I was working at a no-kill shelter when I was 19. She just had her eye removal surgery (fair warning: last 2 slides have photos with her fresh wound, fyi if anyone doesn’t want to see that) and they wanted a staff member to take her home to make sure she does ok through the night. But, she was still sick with a cold and everyone had cats at home. I quietly from the back spoke up and said, “maybe I could ask my dad if we can take her home? We don’t have cats.” And so I did. And he said yes. And we immediately fell in love and the rest was history.
After that night, I visited her at her kennel every single day when I was at work, bonding with her and building trust, until I could take her home. I will never forget those days. She was the sweetest, shy little kitten. Even back then she was such a chatty lover girl. 🥺❤️
Rest in paradise, sweet Sparkle Baby. 💖🌈🪽
