Today is Bridget's last day with Peak to Coast, and while we're excited for her next chapter, our hearts are a little heavy.
Bridget, thank you for the compassion, kindness, unique humor, and dedication you've shared with every patient, every client, and every member of our team. You have a way of making people feel seen, heard, and cared for—whether they have two legs or four.
While we're sad to see you leave veterinary medicine, we couldn't be happier for you as you begin your journey in human medicine. Veterinary medicine is losing an incredible advocate for animals and the people who love them, but human healthcare is gaining someone truly exceptional.
If we could ask one thing of you, it would be this: care for yourself with the same compassion you've always shown everyone else. You have spent so much of your career putting others first—don't forget that your own health and happiness matter, too.
Thank you for every laugh, every helping hand, every busy clinic day that you touched with your unique personality. Thank you for being our teammate, our friend, and part of our family.
This isn't goodbye—it's "see you soon."

Welcome back, Ian!
We first met Ian two years ago when he joined us for an externship as a first-year veterinary student at Oregon State University. It's been a pleasure to watch his journey ever since!
Now, after completing his third year of veterinary school, Ian is back for another externship before beginning his final clinical year later this year.
We're excited to have him with us again as he continues to build his knowledge and hands-on experience in veterinary dermatology. Supporting and mentoring the next generation of veterinarians is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
Welcome back, Ian—we're so glad you're here, and we wish you all the best as you prepare for your final year at OSU!

Greetings from Anaheim!
There's something special about learning and teaching under California's blue skies and palm trees.
This week, Dr. Sonja Zabel is honored to be presenting at the AVMA Convention in Anaheim, California, where she'll be speaking to fellow veterinarians about feline otitis (ear disease in cats).
Although ear disease is less common in cats than in dogs, it is often more complex to diagnose and treat. From inflammatory polyps and ear mites to allergies, tumors, and immune-mediated disease, feline ear conditions require a thoughtful and thorough approach.
One of the greatest privileges of being a veterinary specialist is the opportunity to share knowledge with colleagues. By teaching the latest advances in veterinary dermatology and otology, we can help improve the care of cats not only at Peak to Coast Veterinary Specialists, but in practices across the country.
The AVMA Convention is always a wonderful place to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, learn from one another, and continue advancing our profession.
We look forward to bringing new ideas and inspiration back home to our patients, clients, and referring veterinarians.

Happy Summer Solstice from all of us at Peak to Coast Veterinary Specialists!
Today marks the longest day of the year and the official start of summer. While many of us look forward to sunshine, environmental allergies are often in full swing this time of year.
If your pet is experiencing:
🐾 Excessive scratching, licking, or chewing
🐾 Recurrent ear infections
🐾 Red, inflamed skin
they may be feeling the effects of seasonal allergies.
Whether you're heading out on a hike, relaxing in the backyard, or enjoying an evening walk, we hope you and your furry family members have a safe, healthy, and itch-free summer.
If your pet is itchy, we're here to help. Book online: www.peaktocoast.com
Thank you for trusting us with your pets' skin and ear health.

World Ocean Day at Cannon Beach!
We celebrated World Ocean Day this year at beautiful Cannon Beach, surrounded by everything that makes the Oregon Coast so special. The day wrapped up with a fun ocean-themed trivia night hosted by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife in partnership with the North Coast Land Conservancy, Friends of Haystack Rock, and a community of passionate ocean lovers.
After a spirited round of trivia, Dr. Z came home with a new friend: Alf the Tufted Puffin! While Alf may be a stuffed puffin rather than the real thing, he represents one of the Oregon Coast’s most beloved seabirds and will soon be settling into his new home at Peak to Coast.
We love opportunities to learn more about the wildlife, habitats, and conservation efforts that help keep our coast thriving. If you visit us soon, keep an eye out for Alf and see where he decides to perch in the clinic!
