Cutie pie senior Rory has had a rough go at life- he has a deformed front paw that results in a leg length discrepancy and abnormal gait. While he is still able to walk, this wonky gait has created compensations throughout his body, with an overworked front left leg, weakness in his hind limbs, and back pain due to the transfer of forces. Dr. Becca met Rory as a volunteer dog walker at Multnomah Co. Animal Services and now that he is in foster through Stumptown Strays Dog Rescue , she is working with his amazing foster fam to provide home exercises and manual techniques to improve his function and quality of life! His rehab goals include pain management, normalizing gait (which will likely include a custom prosthetic- right now he’s using a bo**ie for some more traction!), and strengthening his weak muscles. We are so happy to help him on his road to recovery and get him stronger to meet his forever fam! 🧡 . .
