Training isn't scary. It's teaching dogs what they are capable of 💜
Leash reactivity does not make for a fun walk. We've been "rewiring" Ruddy's leash reactivity from barking and lunging at dogs, to "hey I see a dog, do you see that dog too?"
Brenda Downs is also teaching Ruddy to jump up- with the goal of being able to jump in the car. His retired parents had to pick his heiness up before.
We humans are very demanding. The least we can do is give them the right tools to successfully navigate our world.

"Hanky Panky" - used to be a humper

While I love sharing pictures on social media, these are the pictures that are included in your daily report card! We use Pet Pocketbook for scheduling and billing, but we also include a daily report card with pictures, pick up and drop off times, what they did for their "business"💩.

I've been stealing Lottie every Thursday for a couple months now to learn agility training with Caroline Ross Dogsense Training Services. It's been so fun learning about an entirely different brand of training. Agility is a lot of fine tuned handler work and showed me I have a lot to learn!
Caroline has been nothing but patient with me (which if you know me is impressive), has been letting me shadow her classes, and welcomed me into her community 💜
I've even signed Todd up for a class and have been pleasantly surprised to see my couch potato enjoying the new movements in class.

The end of week two for Pippa and Yoshi. I love teaching the dogs "find it" as a way of keeping them distracted when there's other dogs or people around. "Find it" means put your nose to the ground! There's something yummy to find. We are also working on Yoshi's ability to remain connected with us with outside stimuli. Which he picked up pretty fast! Lastly we always want to teach the dogs to wait to be let out of the car, we don't want anyone flying out as soon as the doors open!

Teaching eye contact is neat-o. it's also helpful with forming a connection, and communicating with your dog. I want your dog to be focused on me, not whatever's going on around them. Your dog wants that connection too! "Hey look over there, can we check that out?" Is much nicer than " well now I'm going to DRAG this two legger to go check that out"

Welcome Pippa and Yoshi!
This week you will see how getting started with Wicked Good Walks looks like for your dogs.
All dogs start with at least one training walk. This is so we can charge up the marker word "yes", and notice if there are any leash manners that might require a little more attention.

My grandmother would kill me for posting a pic of her so don't tell on me!
Yes we are a dog walking service, it's in the name! My goal isn't to just walk your dog, it's to provide them with a safe and trusted community. They become a huge part of our lives. Sometimes that looks like visiting with family, stopping by the hospital to grab your newborn's blanket for sniffs, or pairing dogs up with the same few dogs every time. Sometimes it looks like having one trusted human that will find a spot far away from other dogs and people. We choose what fits 💜
