If an emergency ever prevented me or Mateo from reaching your home, I would know which professionals I could contact. I would not be starting from scratch or looking for anyone who ‘happened’ to be available.

✈️🎄 Holiday trip planned?

Flight booked. Hotel booked. But is your pet care booked? 🐾

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s are some of our busiest weeks of the year. At Elite Pet Service, we limit our schedule so every pet gets the time, attention, and care they deserve. ❤️

New clients also need time to complete a few steps before their first visit, so please don’t wait until the last minute!

🐾 Planning holiday travel? Send us your dates to check availability. The earlier you book, the better! 🐶🐈💕

We are happy to recommend Happy Tails Mobile Pet Spa to all of our pet parents.

Would your groomer know what to do in an emergency?

We take that responsibility seriously, which is why at Happy Tails every groomer on our team is Pet CPR & First Aid Certified. Because your pet's health and safety are just as important as their fresh groom. 🐾

Edit: he looked better after his primping was completed. I was in the middle of my masterpiece. 😉

Now, his p**p will stay in the litter box, instead of dangling from his bum. 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️

☀️ With this Florida heat, one of the questions I’ve been getting the most is…

“Should I shave my pet to help keep them cool?” 🐶🐱

The answer depends on their coat type—and in many cases, shaving can actually make it harder for your pet to regulate their body temperature.

I’ve put together this quick guide to help explain what works best for different coat types.

💛 A few extra tips for every pet:
🐾 Walk during the cooler morning or evening hours.
💦 Always provide plenty of fresh water.
🌳 Stick to shade whenever possible.
🔥 Test the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws.

Every pet is different, so if you’re unsure what’s best for your furry family member, don’t hesitate to ask your veterinarian or trusted groomer.

☀️ Extreme Heat Advisory for Our Elite Pet Service Families ☀️

With temperatures and humidity reaching dangerous levels, your pet’s safety is our top priority.

During periods of extreme heat, Elite Pet Service may make adjustments to our normal walking routines to help prevent heat-related illness. Instead of long walks on hot pavement, visits may include shorter potty breaks followed by indoor playtime, enrichment activities, fresh water, and plenty of air conditioning.

Please remember:
🐾 Pavement can become hot enough to burn paw pads in just minutes.
🐾 Dogs can overheat much faster than people, especially seniors, puppies, brachycephalic breeds (such as Bulldogs and Pugs), and pets with medical conditions.
🐾 Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can become life-threatening very quickly.

Signs of overheating include excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, disorientation, or collapse. If you notice any of these signs, seek veterinary care immediately.

As always, we’ll use our professional judgment to determine the safest way to care for your pets during each visit. We know many dogs love their walks, but on days like these, keeping them cool and safe is the greatest act of love.

Thank you for trusting Elite Pet Service to care for your family members as if they were our own. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and give your furry friends an extra cuddle from us! ❤️🐾
