I will be at the Stonebelt Rba show tomorrow at the Clay County fairgrounds in Brazil Indiana. I have lots of rabbits looking to hop!!! Everything from pets to show stock! Come by and say hi!!! 🐰

Sometimes life isn't fair and you can't find a reason for the "why". My one year old doe, Foxy (silver fox rex mix) was bred to my Californian New Zealand mix buck. She started kindling yesterday afternoon and had this little guy and two stretched stillborns. This guy was slightly chilled so he rode around in my bra for a bit 🤣 and was active and squeaky when I finished chores, so he was returned to Mom, who promptly cleaned him up and fed him. I found two more stillborns and unfortunately a deceased Foxy moments ago. This guy is warm and fed so all was well for a while. Foxy was an experienced mom who kindled her previous litter in subzero weather keeping all 5 alive and well. When things go wrong with rabbits, they usually go REALLY WRONG. Fortunately my Dutch doe Bubbles kindled 2 days ago to a small litter of 3 so this guy will have a foster mom to feed him. I'm devastated at the loss of Foxy, as she was such a good mom and had a decent temperament for a meat production doe 😂 She will be sorely missed 💔

Processed two rabbits yesterday and today is cooking day!! Rubbed with olive oil and a blend of seasonings including paprika, ground mustard, black pepper, Italian seasoning, salt, and a pinch of dark chili pepper!! They're now on the smoker with cherry wood and it's smelling absolutely heavenly!!! Rabbits were out of a silver doe and an American blue buck about 4 lbs dressed weight.

Argos, Indiana show and so far Clyde my Sr blue buck was best of breed Dutch and my jr black doe was best opposite!! And Ann my Sr American blue was best of breed American!!! Show B coming up!!

I know I'm new at this business, but it's not my first day on Earth. I love weird phishing scam messages inquiring about rabbits, then state they "will take 3 of these". When asked where they live, they first say "Poland" then quickly edit to say "United States". Verbage was off, profile hadn't been used since 2022, wanted to immediately send money for deposit via Zelle or Venmo.........asked exactly which state they lived in and no response for a while so I hit the block button. No time for scammers. Bye, Felicia!!

We are fortunate to be helping with breed preservation here with our Americans, silvers, and most recently added lilacs!!

There are 15 rabbit breeds on The Livestock Conservancy’s Conservation Priority List, several of which were developed in the United States. All heritage breed rabbits are genetically valuable with unique, desirable traits and it takes the hard work of dedicated breeders to ensure the survival of these breeds for the future!

We recently added a few lionheads that were needing a home. A mom, dad, and 3 juvenile sons. Mom and dad were housed together so I wasn't too surprised when she gave us a beautiful litter of 5 new babies!! Mom is a black magpie, dad is a chocolate harlequin. These babies should have tons of color!!

New Zealand mix doe Wednesday gave us 6 healthy fat kits April 21st! All appear to be gold tipped steel just like mom!!

We've been super busy lately so I apologize for our absence!! Attended a show recently in Lebanon, Indiana! It was a quad show, so 4 shows under 4 judges, plus a rare breed specialty!! Jr tort Dutch buck Flag was Best of Breed in the 3 shows I entered him in and Sr blue American doe Ann was Best of Breed in show B!! She has some excellent competition and the other breeder had a really nice buck that beat her for BOB in the other 2 shows. But I had two buns in the running for Best in Show for show B and that was exciting!!
