This is a post I hate to make. We will not be breeding Danes for some time.
We recently lost my girl, Macy. We are small breeders. Our Danes are family first. We will never be breeders on a large scale who keep their dogs in kennels. Losing Tucker so suddenly in 2024, then our mama Jade in 2025 was hard. We lost Macy unexpectedly also and they don't call Great Danes the heartbreak breed for nothing.
She was my girl. She was the sweetest, funniest girl and talked to me in her little grumble when I'd get home from work and she absolutely loved being outside with me, right by my side. Losing her broke my heart and I'm not ready to replace her.
I have also felt like since returning to work full time after cancer, I simply don't have time to juggle the puppies, the rabbits, work, keeping up with the never ending things that have to be done. If we breed Danes again we will do it after we have a good fenced area, a good space for puppies, and more time.
I don't like half-assing anything and I feel like the last couple litters I haven't been able to do things how they should have been done.
Stick around, we still have Atlas, Tiny, and Loki. We might stud Atlas and Loki out and we do still have 3 pups who need new homes. Juliette is a blue female and Auren wants me to keep her to replace her mom but I'm just not feeling it right now. We have Zulu, a black smaller female and Charlie, a gorgeous blue fawn male.
