Elaine has found her home!!!

She leaves here the 14th. Which means more time to love on her, work on kennel, potty, and leash training and basic commands.

We are so thrilled for her and her new owner.
Here is to all their future adventures!

Hard to believe that Sioux and Brunos litter turned 10 weeks yesterday!

Elaine. Sweet Elaine. She surprised us all with some brindle pts popping out in her fur! So no, she is not a classic black and white. She is a black and white with brindle pt. Same as her sister Nesta. Who doesn't love a brindle?

Even better? Elaine has a video call this morning with a potential family! We are excited and so very hopeful for her.

And Feyre. Little Miss Congeniality. It figures a girl with such a beautiful coat would have a matching personality. She is such a sweetheart with many opinions to give.

Both girls are truly special. The entire litter was.
They grow too quickly.

Miss Annie got herself into a bit of trouble today.
She managed to cut open her Paw Pad while out romping in the yard with beau and turbo.

After 3 rounds of wrap were effectively torn off, I am thankful for my son still wearing toddler socks. Lifesaver for a little stinker like her.

As you can tell by her side eye, she is not impressed with my methods.

I may be a little biased, but this group sure makes me smile. ❤️

In this photo we've got:

- Feyre — my keeper girl.
- Bruno — Feyre's sire.
- Shillelagh — my beautiful young lady from Colorado.
- Sioux — Feyre's dam.

Looking at them all together is pretty special.

Bruno and Sioux together have helped shape the direction of Savages Low Riders in more ways than I can count. They've given me some truly beautiful puppies, taught me lessons, and helped build the program into what it is today.

It is truly exciting to watch the next generation step forward.

Feyre and Shillelagh represent the future. The youngsters are growing up, finding their confidence, and slowly preparing to take over where Sioux and Bruno will eventually leave off.

The only one missing from this photo is my up-and-coming addition from Ukraine.

I'd say the future is looking pretty bright around here.

This cutie patootie is the last one still looking for her pawfect couch. Elaine is a standard coat black and white. She and a couple of our other Cardigan Corgis will be joining me at the worth county fair this year. Look for us Wednesday and Thursday.

Fun fact in regards to Cardigan Welsh Corgis

1. They predate the Pembroke Welsh Corgi by 3,000 + years.

2. They are believed to have helped create the Pembroke.

3. They're much more laid back and reserved than the classic party attitude most Pembrokes have (not all, but most).

4. They're more reserved with strangers until they know they can trust you.

5. They come in more colors than the pembroke. They also come in fluffy. While fluffy is a fault, it can still be shown in conformation.

6. Their ears are so big, it takes them up to 6 months to be standing fully erect! Usually by 12 to 14 weeks I will tape them if they have not gone up into airplane mode.

7. They are wonderful in agility, fast cat, rally, and scent. They are truly a versatile breed in show and at home.

In fact, we have 2 and a new addition coming all
The way from Ukraine that will be started in conformation and agility this year.

The many faces of Elaine and Feyre.

One has "doby" ears.
The other?
Not sure what's going in her brain. 🤔 😂

What I Do know... is that Elaine is about as vocal and playful as she is cute. She has no problems saying it like it is.

Feyre has a pension for getting dirty. Water dog she is.
Playing in the water bowl - Check
Dumping it in the grass - Check
Rolling in the said wet grass - Check
Coming out filthy - also check.

Remember that post I said I was going to make… the one I emotionally just could not bring myself to write?

Well… here it is.

The family who chose Frankie also decided to bring Luna home with them.

There are many who do not know, but Luna and Annie unfortunately were not getting along. This started last winter. Despite every hope, every prayer, and every effort, the issues between them were escalating. And as heartbreaking as it is to admit, I had to make the decision based on what was safest and healthiest for everyone involved.

In a way, there is comfort knowing Luna did not have to leave alone. She gets to stay with Frankie, and they both now have two other Cardigan Welsh Corgis to run, play, and cuddle with. She will be loved deeply there, and I truly believe that.

But my heart is still shattered.

Luna was never supposed to leave. The plan was for her to stay here as my couch potato, my sidekick, the dog who helped teach the younger generation the ropes. She was part of the foundation of this program, but even more than that, she was family.

And Annie… Annie just could not leave.

I was already Annie’s third home, and somewhere along the way, she finally decided this was her place. She flourished here. She came out of her shell, found her confidence, and bonded to me in a way that is hard to even explain. She follows me everywhere, watches everything I do, and just wants to be near me all the time.

So when it came down to making the impossible decision, I couldn’t uproot Annie again.

Sometimes loving your dogs means making the decision that hurts you the most because it gives them the best chance at peace and happiness.

That doesn’t make it hurt any less.

The house feels quieter tonight. Different. And if I’m honest… a little emptier. My heart is hurting. So many losses at once.

Please love them big for me. 🤍
