❤️ Feel Good Friday ... we want to say Congratulations to Tim Frye who was one of the honorees recognized at Plymouth Center for Active Living - COA (CAL) Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon last week. Tim received an official citation for his "... dedicated service to Meals on Wheels and your readiness to help all who visit the center by showing compassion and uplifting our community each day ...".

🐾 Tim is always there at our CAL Helping Hands pet food pantries, helping us unload, setting up, taking out all our trash and recyclables, and helping other pantry patrons with their heavy bags. Tim is a great guy!

🙌🏼 Also a shout out Stop & Shop and their Assonet, MA Distribution Manager Joelle Defreitas for the generous product donations to our pet food pantries!

💙 The CAL's 2026 Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon: So many amazing volunteers were recognized with awards from the Town, the State, and Congressman Keating’s office for the countless ways they give back to our community. From helping deliver Meals on Wheels 🍽️, to volunteering with students in our schools 📚, to greeting visitors at the welcome desk and so much more, these volunteers make such a difference each and every day. 🫶🏼

💔 When Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals receives a call from a heartbroken pet owner, our hearts break a little too. We are privileged to be able to assist pet owners provide their pets a peaceful end-of-life transition with compassionate veterinary care. Max, an 11 year old dog suffering from an aggressive cancer, passed over the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 🐾yesterday. Max's dad is a disabled veteran on a small fixed income. Too proud to ask for help, his daughter reached out to Helping Hands for financial assistance so that his beloved Max could be released from his pain. We light an honorary virtual candle in Max's memory. 🙏🏼

Thank you to the compassionate staff at Vetco Total Care Clinic in Plymouth who are wonderful. 🫶🏼

Sharing these great guidelines from Court Street Animal Hospital for recognizing signs of potential infections in your pets. 🐶🐱🐾

As flowers bloom, so do risks for our pets, with plenty of opportunity for them to breathe in particles, scratch an eye, poke a paw, or even get snagged by a branch or thorn, all of which could potentially lead to infections.

Infections can be sneaky subtle—If your pet is not acting right and you are not sure what it is, get them checked! Like with most conditions, the sooner we treat an infection, the better your pet will feel.
