Batman’s story could have ended very differently.

When he was abandoned outside our doors, all we had was a cardboard carrier and a handwritten note from someone who loved him but felt they had run out of options.

Today, Batman has a happy ending.

Stories like his are only possible because of the support of our community. Every donation helps provide shelter, medical care, second chances, and the time animals need to find the right home.

Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, every dollar donated through July 10 will be matched up to $10,000.

Somebody forgot to tell Tink she’s 9 years old.
Not that she’d listen anyway.
Tink approaches every day with the enthusiasm of a kitten. If there’s something happening at the rescue, she wants to know about it. Volunteers arriving? Tink’s on her way. Toys being handed out? Tink’s first in line. A chance to make a new friend? She’s already introducing herself.
With her cloudy eyes, Tink experiences the world a little differently than most cats. She relies on touch, curiosity, and her other senses to navigate life. But what stands out most isn’t what she can’t see—it’s how much joy she finds in everything around her. And her extra toes and one-of-a-kind personality makes her wonderfully unique.
She’s playful, independent, and wonderfully good at entertaining herself, but she’s also drawn to people and quick to make new friends. Tink genuinely enjoys being part of the action and sharing her days with the humans she loves.
Some cats act their age.
Tink acts like every day is the best day ever.
And honestly? We think she’s onto something.

Adopted!

Some cats demand attention the moment you walk into a room.
Ella isn’t one of them.

While other cats are busy introducing themselves, Ella (2 years old) is usually quietly observing from a cozy spot, taking everything in. Because of her quiet and independent nature, she often gets overlooked by visitors looking to adopt. But with a little time, you’ll discover she’s thoughtful, curious, and likes to make up her own mind about people, toys, and even cat brushes.

Ella is also incredibly sweet and gentle. She prefers a calm, drama-free lifestyle and tends to avoid the chaos, making her the perfect companion for someone looking for a peaceful feline friend.

Most of the time, Ella can be found carrying toys around like prized possessions or waiting for her favorite staff members and volunteers to stop by for attention or playtime. She gets along well with other cats and enjoys having company, but she’s never one to steal the spotlight.

Ella may not be the cat who catches your eye first. She’s the cat waiting for someone thoughtful enough to notice her. And for the person who does, she’ll be a loyal, loving companion worth every moment of patience.

Opal has already survived the hard part.
Now she’s waiting for someone to show her how beautiful the rest of her story can be.

It’s hard not to wonder who Opal (6yr) might have been if life had been kinder to her from the beginning.
For a very long time, she lived with an injured eye that was never treated. Once she finally found her way to safety, that painful eye was removed—and little by little, the cat underneath began to emerge.
Today, Opal is friendly, affectionate, playful, and surprisingly brave. She loves soft beds, cat trees, and spending time with people she trusts.
Because her vision is limited, she can sometimes be startled by sudden movements and needs a gentle, predictable approach. But when she feels safe, you can see her confidence growing a little more every day.
The hardest part of Opal’s journey is behind her. Now she’s simply looking for a home where she can be loved for exactly who she is.

Betsy (1 yr) is proof that confidence has absolutely nothing to do with size.
She’s tiny. She’s adorable. And she’s operating with the energy of someone who has never once doubted herself.
Betsy loves people, loves attention, loves adventure, and firmly believes that whatever you’re doing should probably involve her. She’s affectionate, playful, curious, and always keeping life interesting.
When it comes to other cats, Betsy knows what she likes. She’s happy to make friends, but she’s not out here collecting them.
She’s looking for a home that appreciates a cat with opinions, charisma, and enough personality to fill the entire room.

Otis & Bailey’s Weekend Plans
Otis & Bailey: Things we’ve learned after 9 years together:
Life is sweet with a best friend, the best naps are shared, a familiar face makes any place feel like home, and good friends stick together.

Otis & Bailey know this better than anyone. Now they’re hoping to find a home where they can continue their friendship - and become part of yours.

In the meantime, here are Otis & Bailey’s Weekend Plans:
Otis: sleep in, have a snack, move to a different napping location, cuddle, and call it a productive day.
Bailey: find wherever Otis is napping, supervising and following my human from room to room (I don’t know what you’re doing but I should definitely be involved), walking several miles a day, mostly behind my humans.
