🐾 Millie’s Miracle Munchkins Update 🐾

Yesterday afternoon, Millie underwent a C-section, and we are happy to report that she is recovering well. ❤️ All 8 puppies arrived safely and are healthy. We welcomed 4 boys and 4 girls into the world!

Right now, Millie is still very uncomfortable from surgery and has not fully accepted the puppies. We are working closely with her, helping the babies nurse and giving her the time and support she needs to adjust. Recovery from a C-section can be a lot for any mom, and our priority is giving her the best possible chance to heal and bond with her babies.

Because of this, we need to create a calm, quiet environment around Millie and the puppies. Over the next several days, volunteer access to her area will be limited, and some previously scheduled shifts may need to be adjusted or canceled.

If you are a volunteer, please keep an eye on your email for updates regarding any changes to your scheduled shifts.

We know many of you have planned your time around volunteering, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Please know this decision was made solely in the best interest of Millie and her puppies.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. We are incredibly grateful for this village that loves our dogs as much as we do. Please keep Millie and her Miracle Munchkins in your thoughts as they begin this journey together. ❤️

🐾🩵 Millie Update 🩵🐾

Unfortunately, we did not see any progress after two rounds of oxytocin.

After over 13 hours of labor, being examined, receiving calcium and oxytocin injections, and spending the day hoping her body would take over, the decision was made to move forward with a C-section.

They just took Millie back into surgery.

This is never the update I hoped to give, but at this point the priority is making sure Millie and her Miracle Munchkins get through this safely. She has worked so hard and fought for so many hours.

I’ll update everyone as soon as I know more.😔

🐾🩵 Millie Update 🩵🐾

We are at the vet after 12 hours of labor with no puppies yet.

Millie was examined and given a shot of oxytocin to see if we can help move things along. Right now, we’re waiting it out at the clinic and hoping this gives her body the little bit of help it needs.

It’s been a very long day. Somewhere between the waiting, the worrying, and the exhaustion, Millie and I both ended up asleep on the vet’s floor. She’s worked so hard for so many hours, and I just want her to get through this safely and finally meet her babies.

The plan right now is to give her some more time. If we still don’t see progress, Dr. P will give her another dose of medication. If that doesn’t get things moving, we’ll move forward with a C-section to make sure Millie and her Miracle Munchkins stay safe.

All I can do right now is stay beside her, love on her, tell her what a good girl she is, and remind her that she’s not doing this alone.

It’s labor time!!

🐾💕 Millie Update: It’s Baby Time! 💕🐾

Miss Millie is officially in active labor! 🐶🤰

I’ve been sitting in her whelping box with her for a few hours now, and she is definitely uncomfortable. She’s restless, nesting, panting, and staying close as she works through these contractions. We aren’t quite to the pushing stage yet, but we’re getting very close. 🩵

As soon as she starts pushing, I’ll go live so everyone can follow along with her journey.

This litter will officially be known as Millie’s Miracle Munchkins. ✨🐾

Millie is 7 years old. She should never have had to worry about having babies at this stage of her life. Instead of spending her senior years feeling safe and loved, she found herself pregnant and alone. But not anymore.

So tonight, I’m sitting right here with her, reminding her that she is safe, she is loved, and that this is it.

This is your last litter, baby girl. 💕😭

After these Miracle Munchkins arrive, your only job will be to be spoiled, loved, and enjoy the life you always deserved.

Please keep Millie and her babies in your thoughts for a safe and healthy delivery. 🙏🩵
