We lost Mavrick today, we did everything we could and he fought a hard fight. I will miss him terribly he brought so much joy to my life. Thank you all for your prayers, your donations and most importantly your support.

Update on Mavrick

Well I thought we were on the right path, but unfortunately Mavrick back at that vet. His belly filled up with fluid and he stopped eating. We dropped him off at 730am this morning and they just called and said they have drained 1500 cc off of him and they are still draining.

Vet thinks this will keep happening until we get him regulated with meds and his liver settled down.

Please keep those prayers for healing for my sweet boy, he needs it.

Mavrick finally is feeling well enough to let me groom him! He wanted to say THANK YOU for all your help and support during my illness I'm glad to still be here with my Nielsen Family and I wouldn't be if it wasnt for you all!

Update on Mavrick

Since starting the new meds and food for his liver he seems good. We met with a nutritionist and she recommended some supplements and food that I make for him. I will be trying that here soon, so fingers crossed 🤞 we are weaning off steriods and his belly is filling back up I called the vet and they don't want to drain due to MRSA infection so we take a few steps forward then of course a few steps back. Please continue to pray and share his story.

So I talked to vet and his blood work shows he is anemic, his Red Blood count is low and a bunch of other things are either low or high he has edema swelling all over his body ughhh

So what does this mean now.........

Vet thinks whatever he has is significant and said if at anytime we decide eustanasia there would be no judgment. I can't do that without know whats wrong I JUST CAN'T, but I do appreciate them saying that so IF we get to that point I know they will support my decision.

She thinks either Addison's disease or cancer, they can't do biopsy due to his blood levels.

So we are treating as if Addison's and he will be on high dose steriods and see if he responds if he doesn't I don't know what else we can do, pray he heals, pray for answers I hate this is happening to him.

Guys I need you to pray hard for Mavrick I just took him back to vet and it doesn't look good. Please pray for my guy. I'm just heartbroken 💔 😞

Update on Mavrick

I took him to the vet for another ultrasound because I thought his belly was filling up with fluid, they said just a tad bit but no concern to drain it. Well his belly gotten bigger so back to vet we go tomorrow morning.

Please continue to keep Mavrick in your prayers I feel we have a loooonnnggg road ahead of us.

I just dropped Mavrick off at vet once again to see if he has fluid build up again please pray I'm being crazy and he is just fine.

It's day by day with my million dollar baby, but this morning he actually acted like a dog, he is walking, he is prancing, he is jumping and playing and he ate a little.

Guys this is huge he wasn't even holding his head up a day ago.

Update on Mavrick

Cardiologist said heart is good but he is definitely sick and declining quickly he said he is not sure how long we have with him and suggested to get him into a KU as soon as we can, thinking it's a liver issue but not sure. I'm just heartbroken 💔 😞 I'm not sure financially how we are going to do this, taking time off, going out of state etc... I'm waiting to hear back from my vet to get her opinion.
