Long time, no post! 🐾

Things have been a little hectic around here lately, and we have LOTS of updates to share! But first, we have a little secret we’ve been sitting on…

PUPPIES! AGAIN! 🤦‍♀️😂

As it turns out, our sweet Gracie was keeping a little secret of her own: THREE adorable little puppies!

Introducing the “Breakfast” litter: Honey, Waffles, and Biscuit! 🥞🍯🧇

These three little nuggets are about 2 months old and will be ready to find their forever homes on Halloween! 🎃

Their mama, Gracie, is a 15 lb Chihuahua mix who looks an awful lot like a miniature yellow Lab, and her babies are following right in her footsteps! We expect them to be around 15 lbs fully grown, just like their mom.

With their tiny pink noses, beautiful blue-green eyes, and ridiculously adorable little faces, these three are pretty hard to resist!

All three puppies have already been spayed/neutered and are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations.

Honey, Waffles, and Biscuit are officially accepting adoption applications! 🐶💕

Another happy Gotcha Day! 🥳🐾 Congratulations to our sweet little guy, Sinatra!

We’ve had a couple of wonderful events over the weekend, so we hate to start the week with heartbreaking news. Yesterday, our little Mufasa crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈🐾

Mufasa came to us heartworm positive and soon began showing symptoms of illness. At a vet visit to begin heartworm treatment, he tested positive for canine distemper. We were shocked, as our rescue had never encountered a case of distemper before.

There is no cure for distemper, and Mufasa was already weakened by heartworm disease. As his condition worsened and his quality of life declined, we made the heartbreaking decision, together with his foster, to let him go peacefully.

His amazing foster, Kim, filled his final days with comfort and love. She spoiled him with whipped cream, kept him cozy in his favorite sweater, and brought fresh grass for him to roll in because he loved it so much.

We are eternally grateful to Kim for showing Mufasa the love he deserved, even if only for a short time.

Both heartworm disease and canine distemper are preventable. Vaccinations and routine heartworm prevention can spare dogs from suffering like this.

Rest peacefully, sweet Mufasa. You were loved. ❤️🌈

A big thank you to Bloomfield Saturday Market for hosting us this past weekend! 🐾

Ambassador pup Ferris and adoptable Dot had a wonderful time making lots of new canine and human friends, and even scored some delicious treats along the way! 🥖💜
