My heart is completely broken. My Chachee girl crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. While trying to find Josie a safety net, I feel like I have lost a big part of mine. Chachee came into my life when I was broken. She helped me feel safe, loved, & whole again. When I first met Chris, Chachee did not know what to think. She didn’t like men, but Chris helped Chachee feel safe. She just loved him. We will just miss her so much. She passed in my arms. As she closed her eyes, I told her grandma would be waiting for her. I hope she is out of pain & running free. I miss her so much.

Not our normal content, but she our child. I so appreciate everyone who donated so far. Every month , there is an estimated 9 deaths from autism elopement or escape. Josie ran into the woods to get to a creek yesterday , almost falling from a cliff. Autism children are 160% more likely to drown than children without autism due to escaping & trying to get to a water source. Anything helps us build a smaller permanent fence with a secure locking. 5 dollars will help Josie. Please consider sharing & donating. Thank You so much! https://gofund.me/0831f7404

Hello, everyone! 💜 We created a GoFundMe for our Josie’s Safe Fence.

JoJo has recently been diagnosed with autism. She will escape into the street or woods behind our house. It has a creek. Water is her favorite thing. Unfortunately, there is a cliff leading to the creek. It is so very dangerous. She still desperately needs a secure fence. There aren’t any grants that can help us, and insurance wont cover it.. 💜For Josie, a fence isn’t a boundary—it’s freedom and safety. Please consider donating or simply sharing her story. Every little bit helps! 💜 Hello, everyone! 💜 We created a GoFundMe for Josie’s Safe Fence.

Honoring the dogs of 9/11…

Every year around September 11th I can’t help but think of the unsung heroes in the aftermath of the twin towers collapsing, the dogs.

Over 300 dogs stood beside nearly 10,000 rescue workers at Ground Zero. They knew the job they had been trained for, and they did it with no hesitation…even in horrible conditions.

They climbed mountains of smoldering debris, burned their paws, cut their skin, and still they pressed forward tirelessly searching for life.

As the days passed and survivors became fewer, the dogs began to lose hope. Some showed signs of depression, believing they had failed. So their handlers did something creative and bold. They hid among the rubble, allowing the dogs to “find” them….restoring their purpose, and bringing back the wag of their tails, and it worked.

Through exhaustion, heartbreak, and danger, these four legged heroes carried light into the darkest days. They comforted the grieving. They gave hope to the hopeless. They gave love when the world was broken. Every year we honor the service dogs and humans of 9/11…forever heroes, forever remembered.

In this dark and sometimes scary world may we look to the dogs of 9/11 as a reminder to meet despair with courage, to answer heartbreak with love, to scale the mountains ahead of us one step at a time, and carry light even when the world feels heavy.
