If you thought I was going to go the hospital and NOT do this, then do you really know me? This past Saturday, 45 mins in of my 3 hour flight from Vegas, I felt an immense amount of pain in my upper abdomen along with sweating, chills, nausea and dizziness. It was some of the worst pain and of course flying alone made everything so much scarier.
Once I landed, I thought I’d feel better but the pain persisted so much that I went to the ER fully expecting to be something easy to treat with some sort of pill. After all the images (x-ray, ultrasound, CT) it was determined that my gallbladder needed to be removed.
It was my first surgery and to say I was terrified would be putting it lightly. Thankfully, the nurses, doctors, techs, and residents all made me feel like I was in good hands.
Surgery went well with no complications and I’m back home resting. Thank you to the entire staff at for being so wonderful and putting up with my terrible jokes.
Thank you to my husband who slept on a plastic cot so I wasn’t alone. Thank you for brightening my mood and visiting me to pass the time. And thank you to everyone who reached out - the calls and texts and messages got me through a very scary situation. I feel so loved and supported and that makes the hard things bearable. 🩷
