The last 12 hours have been very, very weird. People pretending to work for us to get ahold of stray dogs- which has unlocked a new fear for us, thanks. And calling 3 separate vets we use to try and fit Poe in for X-rays and bloodwork, because he’s a wonky guy and we really need answers- only for all of them to be short staffed and pushed 2-3 weeks out for appointments. To then bringing Poe by the shelter to register him as lost, only to be told he MUST be neutered if we went through their intake process. (We are pro spay/neuter, but not when the dog is pediatric. & our local shelter is great, we were just surprised by this program change). So we have to cover everything for him from our coffers. Which are ✨empty.✨
I’ll be real with yall- we don’t have the funds for this. We’re buying food bag by bag right now. We did not anticipate Poe having physiological issues to this extent. A couple fosters have popped up with mystery gastroenteritis, and we certainly didn’t plan to bring on a 3 month old puppy in s**t condition, but here we are. 😮💨
We have until May 27th, next Wed, to raise $770.15 to get both of these kids the care they need. Grimm will receive his vaccine package ($80) from tomorrow.
