The last 12 hours have been very, very weird. People pretending to work for us to get ahold of stray dogs- which has unlocked a new fear for us, thanks. And calling 3 separate vets we use to try and fit Poe in for X-rays and bloodwork, because he’s a wonky guy and we really need answers- only for all of them to be short staffed and pushed 2-3 weeks out for appointments. To then bringing Poe by the shelter to register him as lost, only to be told he MUST be neutered if we went through their intake process. (We are pro spay/neuter, but not when the dog is pediatric. & our local shelter is great, we were just surprised by this program change). So we have to cover everything for him from our coffers. Which are ✨empty.✨

I’ll be real with yall- we don’t have the funds for this. We’re buying food bag by bag right now. We did not anticipate Poe having physiological issues to this extent. A couple fosters have popped up with mystery gastroenteritis, and we certainly didn’t plan to bring on a 3 month old puppy in s**t condition, but here we are. 😮‍💨

We have until May 27th, next Wed, to raise $770.15 to get both of these kids the care they need. Grimm will receive his vaccine package ($80) from tomorrow.

This kid has made me laugh every day. He’s also made me say “I now know why you were on discount!” (My go-to phrase for owner surrenders😂)

Poe’s leg is ROUGH. And it’s changes the way his entire body moves. His gait is weird, and his hips have a lateral shift that is likely dysplasia or uneven use over time.

My hope we can get a s**tload of rads, shoot them to an ortho, and ortho says “why yes, I can make this crooked child straight again!”

The plan today is to call around to our vets and get some quotes drawn up for exam, HW check, and rads. We’ll post everyone once we have it.

Who doesn’t love dogs on a discount 😂

Viggo, Lakota, and Morgan have been with us for a year and five months; our second longest residents.

Viggo has had 0 applications. Lakota and Morgan were both separately matched to an open app 1 time, and it never panned out for either of their matches. 🥲

They may not be the “easy” choice, and they may not have the quintessential always pointy ears, a little too much white, a little lacking in the stranger loving department… but they have the same desire to be loved that all of our other dogs do. They’re goofy, they’re vibrant, they’re warm.

Morgan and Lakota have enough food and toy drive to be the occasional weekend warrior type dogs! They crave a life where they’re included in the cool stuff; the hiking, the camping, the pillow forts in the living room. (Yes, I am an adult that still does my own pillow forts. 😤) Viggo’s ideal placement is a home with a dog harem and a yard to chase squirrels around in, with minimal people comings and goings. A quiet life with someone who has the patience to win him over, and the desire to love him forever.

These 3 are located in Greenville SC! Lakota and Morgan are also available to foster. All out of area adoption applicants must travel in to meet their dogs.

These two girls are our most promising prospects for dual purpose or multi sport dogs!

Brontë is significantly less mature at 12-13months old, but what she lacks in experience she makes up for in biddability and raw potential! This girl social social social with people! Dog selective but easier overall with males. Can get bored in the hunt but overall is level headed and not frantic. Her toy drive has exploded the last few months, and with some work on her possession and grips she’ll be a machine!

Sashay aka Ashi (“Ah-shee”) is also a social butterfly- and dog selective. 😂 At a guesstimated 2 years old, she is more mentally mature than Brontë. This girl loves. To. Bite. Her exuberance makes her a little leaky and thrashy but hey, she’s green. 💁🏼‍♀️ She has a much more exuberant hunt, and a natural alert/indication 🤯 that would lend itself useful to article search! She is an absolute peach to have around, and is absolutely a dog that wants a job and a person to do it for.

Both girls are available in Greenville SC. Out of state adopters MUST travel in to meet their dogs.
