Majestic Maines

Sometimes you just have to hold them like newborn babies for comfort. Little Ms. Lusine was spayed today and I couldn’t help myself, I just wanted to comfort and cradle her.

This is one of those parts of breeding that never gets old. 🥹❤️

There’s something so special about getting updates from our families and seeing the babies we raised absolutely thriving in their new homes. I remember them as tiny kittens running around here, and then suddenly I’m getting pictures like THESE. Look how BIG they are! 😭

Benny, formerly Rowan, and Achilles, formerly Cedric, are from our Kingdom of Northumbria litter, born March 2nd, and they’ll be 7 months old tomorrow! 🖤🤍

I may raise them first, but eventually they become someone else’s baby. Seeing them so loved, spoiled, and completely part of their families is truly one of the best parts of what I do.

And to my Majestic Maines families—please never think you’re sending me too many pictures. I LOVE seeing my babies grow. 🥹❤️

Happy almost 7 months, Benny & Achilles! Look at these gorgeous boys! 🖤🤍

This one is a really difficult one for me. ❤️
After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to retire our beautiful Diana from our breeding program.

I absolutely adore this girl. I love her type, her personality, and the incredibly beautiful, affectionate babies she has given us. She has also been an amazing and devoted mama.

But Diana does everything BIG. Her most recent litter was an incredible 15 kittens, and carrying, delivering, and nursing such large litters takes an enormous toll on her body. She gives everything she has to her babies, losing a significant amount of weight and depleting her own reserves in the process.

Because she also cycles very frequently, I had to ask myself whether producing another beautiful litter was worth putting her body through another pregnancy that could once again be exceptionally large.

For me, the answer is no. ❤️

I would much rather retire Diana while she is young and let her spend the rest of her life being somebody’s spoiled, beloved girl than risk asking too much of her.

Sometimes loving our cats means putting them before our plans for them.

So now I’m looking for a very special family who will love and appreciate this incredible girl and give her the retirement she deserves.

She has spent so much time being an amazing mama. Now it’s her turn to simply be someone’s baby. ❤️.

Taking 16 kittens to the vet was an interesting experience but when you have your best friend there with you, it makes it less stressful!

Can you spot the kitten who just got their face washed? 😂

Sometimes a kitten comes along who is exactly what you’ve been dreaming of. 🤍

Meet Wolfe, our beautiful boy from the Kingdom of Mercia litter who is staying right here at Majestic Maines. The son of a Champion, Wolfe has so many of the qualities I’ve dreamed of for our program.

If he continues to develop beautifully and completes all of his health testing, Wolfe will become one of our future sires. I can’t wait to watch this gorgeous boy grow. 👑🐾
