Pegasus has come a long way! I caught her last winter and brought her in as a TNR. She was estimated to only be six months old. When they went to spay her, they found that she had unterus unicornis; a rare congenital abnormality (approx. 0.09% prevalence in cats) where only one functional uterine horn develops. Affected cats are often asymptomatic, fertile, and diagnosed during routine spaying. A common thing that goes along with that is only having one kidney, which was also true for her. There was no way I could put her back outside given all of that and the fact that she wasn’t truly feral. She didn’t want me to touch her, but she wasn’t aggressive. Recently, she has started meowing at me very cutely at meal time and allowing me to pet her when I’m feeding her. I’m not sure if she would let me pick her up yet but it’s really good progress and it’s wonderful to see because she’s so cute and so young!

Petyr is looking for his forever home. He’s about 4 months old. He was just neutered last Thursday and combo tested positive for FIV. He’s cat friendly and FIV is only transmitted through deep puncture wounds, so he can definitely live with other cats! He’s a little bit shy but very sweet and not overly playful. With all of those things combined, he’s a very rare exception to the rule and we WOULD consider an application for him to be an only cat. If that’s the case, we would love to see him with some kids or people who are home a lot to make sure he gets plenty of attention and play time. He’s a very sweet boy and we hope FIV doesn’t stop him from finding his home because it really doesn’t cause him any issues at all and since he’s so sweet with other cats, it’s not an issue for them either. 🖤🤍

Adopt Arthur Pendragon! He is just the sweetest, cutest little man. 🥹🖤 He loves to be loved. He is friendly with other cats and very submissive. Would probably be OK with dogs, given a slow introduction. He would also be perfectly happy on his own! He does have an old, healed injury (broken paw) that makes him a little slow moving. He benefits from daily gabapentin, but it is really inexpensive and easy to give him. As a result of it, he doesn’t jump very high, so it’s definitely not a counter/table cat. He loves attention and he loves treats!

Arthur Pendragon is still looking for his forever home. He came in with pretty severe mange but is all better now! He’s a very sweet, quirky boy with an adorable wonky ear. He still has some patches of missing fur that may or may not grow back. Arthur is only about 4 years old. He’s neutered, vaccinated, combo tested negative for FIV and FELV and ready for his forever home! He clearly had some tough times on the street. He’s slow moving and a little arthritic. He has as old injury to one of his paws where his bones didn’t heal completely right, so he’s pretty slow-moving and doesn’t like to jump too high. He could use daily gabapentin to take the edge off, but he takes it really well and it’s inexpensive. He is NOT a counter cat, which is kind of nice! He can do stairs. We don’t have a couch in the cat room, so I’m not positive if he can get up on one, but I’m betting he can! He would probably appreciate some of those soft, pet steps to help him out so he doesn’t have to jump down. He’s a very sweet boy. Loves attention. Is okay with being held, and might even enjoy it. He is friendly with other cats and submissive. He would be happy as an only cat or with a friend or two, as long as they won’t bully him. I think he would also be OK with the dog, given a slow introduction. Adopt Arthur!! 🖤

Ohhh, Patches. It’s been quite a struggle with her, but I honestly think we are finally making some progress! Since she doesn’t have any teeth, I decided to start tube feeding her like I would a neonate as a last ditch effort to save her life. This is only possible because she doesn’t have teeth so she can’t bite through the tube. I was honestly scared to do it. Not because I don’t know how… I’ve done it 1 million times for kittens, just never adults. I was mainly worried because I thought it would be hard on her. I didn’t want to stress her out or traumatize her, but she honestly handles it really well! She adores my husband and I really think his help is what made this possible and relatively easy with her. We started doing it yesterday afternoon and I think it’s making a huge difference already! Four times a day, she is getting really good quality nutrients into her belly now. She is so much brighter and more alert today! We go in on Monday for another round of bloodwork and I am really hoping that we have some positive results. Hopefully she will have gained a little bit of weight as well. She still isn’t eating much on her own, but she does graze, mostly dry food. I mixed up some really nutrient dense stuff for her to tube feed with and I really think it is making a difference! I have seen it in kittens where they feel like crap so they don’t eat. Then I force feed them and they start feeling better, so then they want to eat on their own. I am hoping that will be the case with her. Patches is such a sweet girl. We just want to get her back on track. Hopefully we are on our way. She got her weekly B12 injection with her fluids tonight. Hopefully that will give her an extra boost and we will see even more improvement tomorrow.🤞🤞

I really don’t understand how Fat Head has not had more interest. He was a showstopper at our last adoption event and I really thought we might get an application or two for him from it, but unfortunately, we have not. This very handsome boy with the biggest head and fattest cheeks in all the land is ready to find his forever home! He is approximately 3 to 5 years old, but I really think he’s on the lower end of that. Super chill and really submissive with other cats. He would be happy with some feline friends, but he would also be thrilled to be the only cat and have your undivided attention. He is really just the coolest, most low maintenance dude. Give him a comfortable spot to lay down, fill his tummy with snacks and give him a toy or two, and he will be your best friend for life!

Patches is not really showing any improvement. 😓 Her fever did break, which is great but we still can’t get her to eat enough. Trust me when I tell you that we have tried/are trying absolutely EVERYTHING. Every kind of food. Every kind of appetite stimulant. The only thing we have not done yet is place a feeding tube and the reason we haven’t done that is because it is very risky in her fragile state. We have very serious concerns that she wouldn’t make it off the table. We are bringing her back in on Monday for another follow up to redo her blood work and see if what we are doing is making any difference. She is continuing to lose weight and only eating very small amounts despite being offered countless kinds of food all day long. She grazes a little here and there, but is not eating nearly enough. We really need to see some improvement with her soon. Watching her get smaller and smaller, is really hard. She is so sweet and so loving. I just want her to be OK. Hopefully by Monday, the new meds that we started this week will be making a difference. 🙏😓

Now that I have shared my secret litter, you may understand why we are flying through food over here. 😅 Please consider donating a case of food if you are able. There’s also a link to my Venmo if you can’t get a full case but would like to contribute towards one. 💖🙏 wet food for both kittens and adults are highest priority, but we are running low on dry as well. Honestly, anything on that list that isn’t a toy is highly needed!

Urgent plea for Patches ❤️‍🩹

We are desperately trying to save Patches, and we need your help.

A few weeks ago, Patches underwent dental surgery to treat severe stomatitis. We knew recovery could be difficult but we would have expected improvement by now. She’s continuing to lose weight. She is eating, just not eating enough and we can’t seem to turn things around.

At her most recent vet visit on Monday, we did a full chem panel and learned that Patches is now severely anemic. She was only mildly anemic before surgery, so something is clearly very wrong. Her body is either not producing red blood cells or it is destroying them and we still don’t know why. We were very concerned about liver or kidney damage from her not eating enough pre-/post surgery, but her kidney and liver function actually look perfectly fine.

She tested negative for FIV and FeLV, which rules out some possible causes we considered, but raises even more questions. On top of that, she spiked a dangerous 105° fever. Aside from watery eyes, she isn’t showing typical cold symptoms, which makes this even more concerning. There may be a viral component, which unfortunately cannot be treated with antibiotics. We just have to continue supportive care.

We are doing everything we can:
• Daily fluids to manage her fever
•Cerenia injections for nausea
• Steroids to reduce inflammation and increase appetite
• Appetite stimulants
• B12 injections
•Gabapentin to manage discomfort.

But nothing is helping her feel better.

Today, we’re taking Patches for yet another veterinary opinion. There are concerns about *possible* lymphoma, and we are running out of options. We are considering placing a feeding tube to help stabilize her, but that means putting her under anesthesia again, which comes with serious risks given how fragile she is.

We are not giving up on her—but we cannot do this alone.

Please, if you are able, consider donating toward Patches’ medical care. Every dollar helps us continue fighting for her life. Even sharing her story could make a difference.

Thank you for caring about this sweet girl. ❤️‍🩹
