Paws for a Cause

Paws for a Cause Our art can make a difference in the world. Each paw sold at $20 will feed, care for & shelter a pet for two days.

Stained Glass Artists (& other crafters), please help animals by taking a few minutes and a bit of scrap glass & make a glass paw to donate to local animal shelters including the Bucks County SPCA, Morris Animal Rescue and PAWS. Will you help? “Paws for a Cause” is looking for stained glass artists who can make a “paw” or two (or other crafters’ pet-themed crafts) to donate to local animal shelte

rs for fundraising. I love animals, and our local shelters can always use more funds to help more animals and provide more services, such special surgeries, facility improvements, and to enable folks to keep their pets at home rather than surrender them. When I started in 2017 my initial goal was 50 donated paws for the Bucks County SPCA to sell, which made a difference to pets in the area. Several years later we greatly surpassed that initial goal with paws that I made, plus pieces sent from all over the USA and internationally and we've added the Morris Animal Rescue and Philadelphia Animal Rescue Society to the organizations we support. Plus a number of you have created similar programs in your own areas! Please let me know if you can contribute a paw or two, or if you have any questions.

The Morris Animal Refuge has put out a call for donations for their upcoming silent auction. In the past this group has been very generous and donated small glass pieces for them to auction off. If you are able and willing to donate this year, please reach out to me here and I'l coordinate. -Tom

From Rose Daul: "Just wanted to send you a picture of my paws, I am donating to a pet rescue center after seeing your post, here in Wisconsin"

Folks, Paws for a Cause is all about caring for shelter animals. I *LOVE* to see people step up and be leaders in their own community and those of you who do this in your own neighborhoods are a part of Paws for a Cause as those who donate your art for us to help animals here. Thank you!

Glass artists... here's an opportunity for you to make a difference and improve lives for shelter pets.
We have a request to support the Morris Animal Refuge. They are planning a virtual silent auction for the spring, and have requested some glass paws or other pieces for their baskets.
Can you help? Please DM me with any questions. 🐾

LOOKING FOR YOUR IDEAS:

First, Happy New Years to those of you who have so generously donated to help support the shelter pets.

Question: The shelters we support have had limited or no walk in traffic for months now, and that's how the pieces you've donated were mostly sold. The need to feed, shelter and care for the shelter pets hasn't gone away.

You have been the true leaders that have made Paws for a Cause a success, and I'm reaching out to hear any ideas you might have

What are your thoughts?

Fond best wishes to you all,
Tom

UPDATE: With the donations of stained glass paws (and a couple of larger pieces) that we have received, I am anxious to place them in shelters where they’re turned to cash and help the animals.

The two locations we support in Bucks County are operating by appointment only and are anxious to receive those beautiful donations. I am bringing them a delivery next week.

The city location I’ve been in contact with is not reopen yet and we are discussing how they can turn these donations into cash to help the animals at their locations. I have a message in to the other city location and don’t yet know their status. Just before the pandemic started they had converted a number of your donations to cash for the animals at their annual gala.

Thank you all who have donated and to those planning to donate in the future. Our program is helping support the shelters provide better futures for the shelter pet.

In case you were wondering, not all the donated glasswork are paws. JW, thank you, thank you, thank you. You've been my top cheerleader and supporter since the earliest days of this community project that's an expression of my passion for animals. Your help here in addition to all you do for animals in your own community has been invaluable.
