First colored pencil of 2026!
The cardinal bird symbolizes hope, love, spiritual messengers (especially from lost loved ones), vitality, and new beginnings, often appearing as a comforting sign or divine connection during tough times or celebrations, representing warmth, faith, and the bridge between worlds. Its vibrant red color links to passion and the divine in some traditions, while its year-round presence signifies resilience and life’s continuity.

In Memoriam; Rob Reiner (1947-2025)
Closing out 2025 with the devastating loss of a man who gave us all such joy. Even though he went on to make some of the great movies he will always be in my heart and memory as Mike Stivic, an imperfect, but well meaning member of the Bunker household of All in the Family. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and an industry that was touched by his creativity.

Alistair Sim as Scrooge; I started this artwork Christmas Day of 2024 when my husband decided to take a nap. It is now finished and I am reposting it for Christmas 2025 as promised!

And if you haven’t seen this 1951 version of a Christmas Carol you are missing out on a Christmas treat. Sim’s performance is full of wit, whimsey and heart. His expressions are priceless and the vehicle for changing him from Grinch to a most loveable Christmas character.

What a couple; Peter Lorre and Sydney Greenstreet! In a span of 5 years they made 9 movies together. Three of these films were starring roles for the two; “Mask of Dimitrios” (also with Zachary Scott), “The Verdict” and my favorite, “Three Strangers” (which also has an excellent role for Geraldine Fitzgerald).
For anyone who is a fan of this duo AND Film Noir, these movies are a must see.

New colored pencil: Bette Davis with her 4th and final husband, Gary Merrill. This is the promo photo from “All About Eve” (1950). They married just after filming wrapped. But my recent obsession was their next outing together: “Another Man’s Poison”; a moody, creepy movie introduced this past October by Mario Cantone on TCM. He called it a “Wild Ride!” Not the best movie, and certainly doesn’t hold a candle to All About Eve, but absolutely worth a viewing.

“Midsomer Murders”: The best murder mystery series EVER! If you’ve never seen it before let me introduce you to the 2nd set of lead detectives, Detective Chief Inspector John Barnaby (cousin of Tom Barnaby) and Detective Sargent Ben Jones played by Neil Dudgeon and Jason Hughes. They follow the original detectives from the first season. If you haven’t yet seen this excellent British crime drama you can get caught up on demand. I highly recommend it!

My colored pencil tribute to Robert Redford; Academy Award winning actor, director and producer. And a man who could look both rugged and beautiful at once.
I am late in completing this artwork, busy with rental upkeep projects and then the sudden death of Diane Keaton kept me from honoring him sooner. But here it is now and hope you like it!
