Harley's Haven Dog Rescue Welcome to Harley's Haven! We are a non-profit(501c3) dog rescue in the greater Philadelphia area. Our dogs live in private foster homes.

We are an all breed and ages rescue - so check us out! *Please note we do not have a shelter. Harley's Haven Dog Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Our purpose is to rescue dogs from high kill shelters and unwanted situations, provide them with appropriate vet care, and find them loving, forever homes. This page is a place for potential adopters to check out our available dogs, to learn

We had 🎉 2 🎉 dogs officially adopted this past week! Congratulations go out to Nori, Coca Cola, and all their new families!

🇺🇸 Have you heard about our Pups for Vets program? With the support of our amazing friends at Hair Studio 1208 in Quakertown, we’re able to waive adoption fees for Veterans and active military members. Not only are they amazing full service salon and spa, they are a wonderful supporter of our rescue and an asset to our community!

📌 To see which dogs are available, all our available dogs have their own photo album under our photo section and their bios are in the description section of each album. If the album is marked PENDING, we are no longer accepting applications for that dog.

Ginger Ale is the last of our Soda Pups still looking for her forever home, and we know her perfect match is out there!

Ginger loves other dogs and would do best in a home with a friendly canine companion. Whether she's playing in the yard, splashing in the water, or following her dog friends around, she's happiest when she has a buddy by her side! While she loves her canine friends, she is looking for a cat free home.

She's great with kids, fantastic in her crate, and doing well with all the normal puppy things. Ginger is a sweet, playful girl who enjoys taking in the world around her and is easily won over with a little cheese.

Elsa has been waiting since November… making her our longest resident 💔❄️

Meet our beautiful, gentle girl who is still waiting for someone to see her for who she truly is. Elsa may not be the dog who runs up to greet you right away, but behind that fear is something incredibly special. It takes some time for Elsa to feel safe. But when she does? That’s when the magic happens ✨ Elsa transforms into a playful, goofy girl with the sweetest personality. It’s a side of her that not everyone gets to see, but for the person willing to be patient and give her the time she deserves, it is unbelievably rewarding.

Elsa *needs* a home with another friendly, confident dog. They are her comfort, her guide, and her safe place. With a canine companion by her side, her whole world opens up. She also requires a secure physical fence, where she can safely explore, play, and build confidence at her own pace.

Elsa is looking for a calm, understanding home (no young kids or cats) that will go slow, respect her boundaries, and celebrate every little win along the way.

She has been waiting far too long. But we know her person is out there! Someone who understands that the best things in life are worth the wait. 💛

Update: Foster Found

URGENT: Foster or Adopter Needed for Benedict 🚨Adoption fee waived!

Benedict is unfortunately coming back to rescue, and we desperately need a foster or forever home for this handsome 11 month old pittie mix. We truly do not want to see him given up on again. He deserves a home that understands he is still a young, energetic dog who needs guidance, structure, and commitment to continue growing into the amazing dog we know he can be. ❤️

Benedict is goofy, athletic, and absolutely loves his people. He lives for walks, zoomies, cuddling, tug-of-war, and being involved in everything you do. He is crate trained, loves routine, and has made tremendous progress with training and leash manners.

He does need an experienced, adult-only home where he can be the only pet and continue building on his training and confidence.

Harley’s Haven will provide all supplies for a foster home, plus free one-on-one training support to help set everyone up for success.

Eight years ago today, I lost my boy, my Harley dog. 💚Today marks 8 years without him by my side - without his reassuring presence in my life. Though he lived a long and full life, 15 years still doesn't feel long enough.

Harley was there for me from when I was just starting college - confirming that vet med was for me. He was there through meeting Tom, getting married, vet school, becoming a mom, 2 different houses - every major life event in my young adult life - Harley was there. He inspired the rescue that bears his name, and countless fosters learned from his excellent leadership. Harley was trained off leash and in agility and dock diving - he was honestly just the best dog in all the land and I could trust him in every situation.

I still miss him like it was yesterday that I lost him, and I will honor him every year because he was such an important part of my story, and the origin story of Harley's Haven. As always, thank you, bubba, for choosing me...for loving me, and for inspiring all the good things that have come from your existence.

Over 2000 dogs now have been adopted in your name - and we will continue on in your memory to hopefully save countless more. Harley LOVED hiking - so we are off for our traditional hike in his honor tonight -and please take a minute to thank the big man with me - who waits upstairs, with sloppy kisses and a joyful bark. I'll love you forever, HarBar, and miss you for always - until we meet again.

Nugget is putting in the work and it’s paying off 💛

Check out this handsome boy practicing his “place” command during dinner. He stayed put like such a champ! He only got up a couple of times, but with a quick reminder, he happily returned right to his spot. Nugget is so smart and wants to do the right thing, which makes working with him incredibly rewarding.

And when he’s off duty? He’s the sweetest, goofiest cuddlebug. Just look at him curled up on the loveseat with all four paws tucked up around his face. We can’t get enough of his silly, cozy side 🥹

If you haven’t met Nugget yet, here’s what you should know: he’s a big, lovable boy (around 80 lbs!) with an even bigger heart. He knows a long list of commands, loves his people deeply, enjoys walks, toys, and enrichment, and is great with other dogs. He thrives on structure, guidance, and being close to his humans.

Because of his size and his excited, sometimes mouthy puppy energy, Nugget is looking for a home with no children under 12. With the right family, he is going to absolutely shine. Nugget is everything a second chance is about, and now he just needs someone to choose him. 🐾

This sweet 4 year old is ready to find her perfect forever family and her smile says it all! Cambrie is the kind of dog who just wants to love and be loved. She would thrive as your one and only princess, but she can also happily coexist with another laid-back dog. Bonus? She can live with cats too! 🐶🐱

Cambrie’s dream home is one where her people are around often to shower her with attention, cuddles, and plenty of adventures. She would love an active family who will take her for walks, play with her, and help her burn off some energy before snuggling up together at the end of the day.

Final Final Days of Our Plant Sale! Large Pots $1, Small Pots 50¢

Monique, the amazing volunteer behind our plant sale, put together a quick video to show some of what we still have available! We still have a nice selection of native plants, other perennials, and for anyone searching for native milkweed for the monarchs, we still have a handful left. We also still have goldenrod, native asters, catmint, and much more!

We even have some veggie plants still available too, including squash and tomatoes!

Plants will be available for purchase at Pennridge Animal Hospital this week during normal business hours, with all proceeds benefiting the rescue. (Closed 12-1 for lunch daily!)

Come grab some goodies for your garden before everything is gone!
