Some of the quietest moments in dog training are the ones that mean the most.
Barkely and I are taking one of our last handful of walks together before he goes home. Over the past weeks we’ve built routines, worked through challenges, and created a language that helps him understand the world a little more clearly.
One thing people don’t always see about board & train programs is the bond that forms during this time. When a dog lives, trains, and learns with you every day, you can’t help but build a connection with them. Watching their confidence grow and seeing the pieces start to click is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
But just as meaningful is the trust from the owners. Inviting someone to work with your dog, to help bridge the gap between where things are and where you want them to be, takes a lot of trust, and I never take that lightly.
Now the best part happens: he goes home with new skills, clearer communication, and an owner ready to keep building on everything we started together.
Grateful for the dogs who teach me as much as I teach them, and for the people who trust me with them. 🐾
