🧠Pet-care pros, it's time for PSI's Question of the Week!

Here’s an important reminder: You don’t have to learn it ALL.

At PSI, we hear from pet-care pros who want to jump on every continuing-education opportunity that catches their attention. We love the enthusiasm, but signing up for every course, training, conference or program can quickly lead to an overloaded schedule and overextended budget.

So, how can you be more intentional about continuing education?

#1: Consider your time and budget.

Take an honest look at your company’s schedule and finances. Then decide how much time and money you can realistically dedicate to professional development for yourself and, if applicable, your team.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Your plan might include:

🐾 Setting aside a few hours each week for online learning.

🐾 Having team members complete one PETSIT PRO mini-course each month.

🐾 Attending one or two in-person industry conferences each year and taking advantage of PSI’s free Monthly Member Toolkit throughout the year.

🐾 Identifying a predictably slower time in your business and making that your annual “learning season.”

Continuing education should strengthen your skills and your business, but not leave you feeling overwhelmed.

👉 Your action step: Decide how much TIME and MONEY you can realistically invest in professional development over the next 12 months. Write it down and use those limits to guide your continuing-ed plan.

Then check the comments for our next tip: How to decide which training opportunities are actually worth your time and money.
