Izzy working on obedience and impulse control around Briggs! 🐾

During this session, I switched back and forth between working Briggs while Izzy held her position, then working Izzy with Briggs nearby as the distraction. We repeated this several times throughout the barn, using the raised platforms and ramp.

Impulse control isn’t just about asking a dog to stay still—it’s teaching them how to remain calm, focused, and accountable while activity is happening around them.

Izzy handled the challenge very well and continues to make great progress! 👏

LaLa, all the way from Columbus, Ohio, putting in some great obedience work in the barn! 🐾

Today we used the raised platforms and wooden spool to challenge her in a different training environment. Learning a command is only the beginning—the real test is whether a dog can stay focused and follow through when the surroundings and distractions change.

It’s so nice having multiple areas to train in, allowing me to gradually introduce different levels of distraction and help each dog build more confidence, focus, and reliability.

Naomi put in some great work today! 🐾

We worked on recall drills outside, then moved into the barn for some confidence building—getting her up onto the raised platforms and navigating the ramp.

She approached every challenge with confidence and did an awesome job! It’s been great watching this sweet girl learn, grow, and become more confident with each session.

Naomi is here with me from the Fulton County Humane Society as she prepares for the next chapter with her forever family. ❤️
