Little paws, big appetites, and a whole lot of messy faces! 🐶🥣

Our beagle babies are reaching another exciting milestone as they begin transitioning from mama's milk to puppy food.

Some dive right in, some investigate every inch of the bowl, and others seem more interested in exploring than eating!

Every little step is part of growing up, and we love watching their personalities blossom. ❤️

🐾 Continuing Our Downsizing Journey

As many of you know, The Beagle Barnyard is continuing to downsize our kennel and breeding program.

Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing several of our adult beagles who are looking for their next homes. Some are retiring from our breeding program, while others simply need a home and lifestyle that better fits them as individuals.

Each dog is different. We’ll share their age, personality, background, training needs, and the type of home we believe will help them thrive.

Our goal is not to place dogs quickly. Our goal is to place them well. We’ll be carefully screening potential homes and matching each dog individually.
And an important clarification: downsizing does not mean The Beagle Barnyard is closing. 🐶❤️

We currently have two litters with puppies that will be available after Thanksgiving, and we are expecting one additional litter. Going forward, our breeding program will simply be smaller and more intentionally managed.

You’ll continue seeing individual posts for our available adults, including their stories and what we’re looking for in their future homes.

If one of our adults catches your heart, please reach out to learn more about that dog and our placement process.

The Barnyard may be getting smaller, but our commitment to our beagles remains just as big. 🐾🤎

🌟ADOPTION PENDING🌟

🦘🐾 MEET ROO! 🐾🦘

This handsome boy is Roo, short for Kangaroo, and he's looking for his forever family! ❤️

Roo is a 14-month-old Tri-color Beagle, under 15 inches, with a traditional hunting-line build.

But there's a reason this little guy has such a special place in our hearts.

Roo was the smallest puppy in his litter, and he got his name because he'd hop and bounce around his littermates like a tiny kangaroo. 🦘

At only 4–5 weeks old, Roo became seriously ill. He spent several days receiving veterinary care, including plasma. Despite extensive testing, he never tested positive for an illness.

His rough beginning caused some delays in his early milestones, but Roo kept growing, kept catching up... and look at him now! ❤️

He's a happy, healthy, playful young Beagle who absolutely loves life.

And Roo has already had some adventures! 🚙

Once he was healthy, he became Karen's little traveling companion and traveled around the country with her until he was about 14 weeks old.

Maybe that's why Roo still LOVES car rides. Grab the keys and he's ready for the next adventure. 😂

🐾 A little about Roo:
• 14 months old
• Tri-color male
• Under 15 inches
• House trained
• Crate trained
• Knows some commands
• Up to date on vaccinations
• Loves car rides
• Loves toys & chasing balls
• Playful, affectionate & active
• Loves playing with other dogs

And about that ball...

Roo will enthusiastically chase whatever you throw.

Returning it is apparently a separate service he does not currently offer. 😂🎾

We'd love to find Roo an active family who will make him part of their everyday life and adventures. Because he enjoys other dogs so much, we think he'd especially enjoy having another younger, playful dog to romp around with.

Roo has not yet been neutered. We intentionally gave him additional time to fully grow and mature before having that done.

From the tiniest puppy in the litter, to a little fighter, to Karen's cross-country road buddy, to the handsome goofball standing in front of us today...

Roo has already found his way through the hard part.

Now we'd really love to help him find his way home. 🏡❤️

🐾 MEET PATCHES | LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 🤎

Patches is a beautiful AKC registered female Beagle, approximately 1 year and 25 weeks old, and she is currently not spayed.

This girl is smart, active, curious and VERY playful! She loves being outside, exploring, playing with the other beagles and putting that wonderful beagle nose to work.

Patches has a lot of potential, but she is still young and needs someone willing to continue teaching her the basics. She needs work with basic obedience, leash manners, boundaries and everyday household skills. She isn't a finished product, and we're not going to pretend she is.

What she DOES have is brains, drive and enthusiasm!

In fact, we think Patches could be a fantastic candidate for Barn Hunt, agility, scent work or other dog sports. Give this girl something productive to do with that nose and busy brain, and she may surprise you with just how much she can accomplish.

Patches would thrive with an active person or family who enjoys training, adventures (loves the water) and enrichment and wants a dog they can truly work and grow with.

She's not looking for someone who expects perfection on Day One. She's looking for someone who sees her potential and is excited to help her get there. 🐶🤎
