The Dalmatian crew here just got bigger, and Lexi is the newest member! 🐾

She is here for her 3 week board and train program, which I think officially qualifies me as a Dalmatian whisperer now. 😆

Lexi is working on two big things while she is with me: nervous system regulation and her obedience. The goal is a Lexi who feels calmer and more comfortable around people and other dogs, with a lot less reactivity. 🐕💜

Regulation comes first because a dog whose body feels safe can actually learn. From there, solid manners give her clear direction, so she always knows what is being asked of her instead of having to figure out the world on her own. ✨

Meet Iris, Luna, and Spot, the three Dalmatians who joined us this weekend! 🐾🪻🌜🐶

Iris is 14 weeks old, Luna is 2.5 years old, and Spot is 5 years old, and all three have one big thing in common: they are deaf. Each of them has their own goals, and I am excited to get started. 🐕

For Iris and Spot, the first thing we are teaching is the e-collar as a communication tool. The tap works like calling their name or tapping them on the shoulder, and the goal is for them to look for me whenever they feel it. That is the foundation, and commands build from there. 💜

Luna has been through a lot in her short life and is still learning to trust people, so her journey starts with nervous system regulation. Once she feels safe, we will introduce the e-collar. Iris is a puppy, so her training also centers on socialization and exposure, and Spot's confidence will grow as he learns to communicate with humans. 🌟🐾
